Spring Has Sprung & I'm So Glad

Greetings everyone. Wow! I didn't realize how long it's been since I've posted. Warning, this post will be filled with photos of the goings on around the farm and a couple of my favorite commercial videos thrown in.

First, my neighbor sold his old farm house and had it moved about 7 miles away.

Four days of digging, hammering, lifting, dragging & more cussing than I ever want to listen to again.....the house was finally on the truck....however, it was getting dark so the sheriff's deputy get the movers would have to start for the new destination in the morning....guess what?! They left the house right in the middle of the road all night long. Mind you, this is a 1 1/2 car road as it is, so they blocked all traffic overnight.  Some of the people who live further down from me were stymied when trying to make it home that night. Of course there's a different route they can take but I can imagine them driving home & all of a sudden there's a house in the middle of the road & you can't get around it & you're wondering, "Have I lost my mind!"

Then there were the 2 snow & ice storms......OMG!!!!!

I was so afraid that the over a hundred year oak tree was going to fall over from all that ice on its branches but thank goodness it stood strong.  As you might have heard, the power was out for days & the water as well. Thank goodness we have a generator which powered the whole house. We even had Internet capability throughout.

Before all all the snow happened, Mr. Cowboy decided he wanted a new garage but I'm naming it the "doghouse" ....hehehehehehehehe.
I'll take photos as things progress. The guys are kind of backed up from all the bad weather.

Finally, here are two of my favorite commercials.  Every time I see them, I nearly fall over with giggles.
Enjoy!!

Do you have any commercials that you love to watch over and over?

Fog?!

Can you see the fog? Not impressed or excited? I wouldn't be either but it's the middle of August in central-ish Texas, 73 degrees, rainy & this type of weather is quite unusual & noteworthy.
What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Words Nearly Fail Me

My temperature gauge reads 10 degrees!  My eyes are bulging out of there sockets. To top that little shocker off, the electricity cut out early this morning for two hours. Did I mention that my house is ALL electric!  The service men, I'm sure worked frantically to get it up & running but I was nearly frozen by then. Mr. Cowboy had already left to feed the cows so I suffered alone.
I did think about getting in the Jeep, starting it to keep warm but I have never figured out how to open the garage doors.....sigh. Mr. Cowboy, I'm sure, will be giving me a lecture on the matter when he gets back.....sigh!!

60 to 25

No photo just a note!
Yesterday it was 60 degrees around my neighborhood. I was able to get in a good rehearsal for my play next month. After the rehearsal I served a great stew with cornbread.
Last night I went to bed then awoke this morning to temps of 25 degrees but with the wind blowing so fiercely, the temp is down to 10 degrees.
I know I'm doing a lot of complaining but here in my neck of the woods, it rarely gets this cold. I'll need that coat.....sigh!
Anyone else feeling the cold?

Really!!!!

See this sky??
At the time I took this yesterday the temp was 72 degrees. In a matter of four hours the temp dropped 50 degrees. For us here in Texas it's known as a "blue norther." In grand dad's day this was the first hog killing weather.
I've got to dig out my winter coat, don't know where it is at this point but believe you me, I'll find it. If you're enduring this type of weather, hunker down & keep warm!

Shower! Finally

Can you see the raindrops on the stepping stone? I'm doing my happy dance because it's finally raining here in Central-ish Texas. It's been around forty days since that's happened. So since we're having a good shower I decided to get busy in the old sewing studio. Me. Cowboy was grateful to see me finish piecing his T-shirt top.
Now all I have to do is quilt it but never fear, I'll get that done when I go back to the long-arm place next week.
I just completed #2 block from Be Attitudes. I like the fabrics & the slow but steady progress.
Onward!!

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
