Life at 60

Hi everyone. First I'd like to thank those who wished me a Happy 60th Birthday! I had a great time going out to dinner and getting to shop at one of my favorite quilt shops. I've given you a little taste of some of my purchases below. What I'll do with the purchases, nobody knows but it was so much fun looking, fondling and talking to the story owner.

As for the age thing.....I feel great at 60. I've been exercising to keep the body moving smoothly and I'm told by my doctor that my health is very good!!! So all is well.

Relax

Therapeutic folding was very much needing after my traumatic experience with the frog.  Just thinking about the little varmit (that's Texas talk for unsavory critter) makes me shiver.  So I'm out in the "sewing studio" folding and refolding fabric to my heart's content.
I'm finding some fabrics that I didn't know I had.... imagine that! Those are going on top so I can find them and use them up. Also refolding helps to keep the fabrics fresh in my mind and creases from being permanent, if you know what I mean.
I pulled out one of my long tables to help with the folding and then I neatly place the folded fabrics back on the shelves.
Ah, I'm feeling much better!

Memorix

Two new additions but still no real direction as to what's going to happen next.
I decided to have the owl facing inward ... don't know why but I like it better that way.  I still have to stitch everything down, that's for a retreat.
Hopefully they won't wind up in my UFO box..... LOL

I am still playing around with paper images to fabric. I love looking through my stash for just the right colors to make the images come to life in fabric.

I'm thinking that I might make a type of mascot quilt..... maybe.

You all know how ideas just come and go so easily.... LOL

We'll see what happens.

Timeless Treasures

Timeless Treasures is the name of this fabric produced in 2003....now how did I know that.....it's on the selvage edge.....LOL
This fabric reminds me of June Cleaver and Donna Reed.....makes me think of grandma and muffins!
I might make an apron out of this and applique a border onto a T-towel...what do you think?
