By leaving your email within your comment, I can find you. I realize that this is sometimes a scary thing to do with scams and all but if you disguise the email as say.....

Squirrel

I loved the movie "UP" and watch it whenever it replays on TV.
The dogs attention spans were short in the first place and when someone yells "squirrel," the dogs go crazy & forget what they were suppose to do.
A short story to say my string quilt project has taken a backseat to another grandbaby.
I'll be back in a couple of weeks maybe.....LOL!!

Fly Like A Eagle

Here's my latest addition. At this time, I'm going to step away from my blog to celebrate the rest of the year with family and friends.

Here's one of the latest little people. Look at those cheeks. Believe you me, I pinched & kissed him until he cried enough!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas, if you celebrate it, and a fantastic rest of December!! I'll see y'all in the new year!!

Happy Birthday

The other day was "Wild Child's" birthday. She enjoyed a ride in one of those cars at the mall. Don't let that cute angelic face fool you. She is something else for sure but GoGo loves her to pieces!

Celebrate Countdown Part 3

Slept on what to do with this eagle. I added a light brown border then found some patriotic fabric in my stash to dress up the block. So far so good!!
However, my mind has gone in yet another direction. So that eagle is tabled for the moment.

Here's the eagle I'm working on now.
The star design is one that I've use many times and is perfect for what I have in mind. I've use several shades of greens and golds on my HST and tone-on-tones.
I really like this eagle with its beak open. I've used permanent markers and crayons to highlight feathers and the bold brow on the eagle.
Here's the finished top measuring 54 inches square.
Next......
Magpie's Mumblings is the winner of the second FQ!! Congratulations to you. Blue and purple are her colors for now, so I'll be sending out the color BLUE to her as soon as we talk via email. I don't have much purple in my stash, if you can believe that.
Remember to leave a comment and mention your favorite color to participate in the give away. If you've already won a FQ, you can still win again.

Here's another pic of the little firecracker!!
Have a great weekend everyone.

Help Me Celebrate

Greetings Everyone!!
I was looking over my blog the other day and discovered that I'm 9 post shy of 1600 posts. OMG! I can't believe it. I've been blogging since 2007 & through many ups and downs in my farm-girl live, I've enjoyed every minute of getting to know many of my fellow bloggers.
So I decided to do a count down & some give-aways to build up to the number 1600.  I'm giving away a fat quart (the winner choses the color) each post until 1600. All you need to do to participate is to leave a comment and in said comment mention your favorite color starting with this post. I'll gladly send to my international friends as well.
Now, onto my next Veteran s quilt.
I made this HST quilt last year & it just sat on a shelf collecting dust bunnies.
I'll be placing a close up of an eagle at the top. I really like it so far but I'll need to add more details.
Stay tuned for more FQ give aways toward my 1600 posts!
Finally, here's one of my grandbabies. I can't believe they were able to snap a photo with the hat still on her head. She's a firecracker!!!

Happy Fourth of July

Ayden & Austin wishing everyone a great 4th of July!!!!
My little people are growing up so fast!

Rolling Along

Yes, that's me about to start on another of the endless rows of tilled grassed seeds. The "roller" behind the tractor mashes everything into the ground so that the grass grows evenly, so says Mr. Cowboy!!!!!
I visited Ayden's school Easter eggs hunt last week to cheer her on. As you can see, she found loads of eggs & shared her portion with a couple of kids who were not as successful.
Look closely & you'll see a Canadian goose just off her nest. I was about to do a little fishing at our lake when I spotted her & snapped this photo. The male was close by swimming around. I hope to get a photo of the hatchlings when that event happens.

What I've Been Doing

First, I made pink cupcakes for Ayden's birthday. The class gobbled them up!!
Next, there was a grade level Thanksgiving program. The kids were adorable all dressed up. Afterwards, they sat down to a great feast provided by the parents & grandparents.
Baby Austin showed up to encourage big sister. And GoGo was all over those fat cheeks. I did manage to get most of the lipstick off......;-)

Day One

Ayden's first day of school was a great success. After dropping her with her teacher, her parents stood at the door for some time. When Ayden noticed them hovering she mouthed, "You can go now, I'm okay!"
I'm so happy she's had a great start.
On another note......
Lucky & her new mom are getting along swimmingly. Of course the mom has no real choice but is happy to get to eat all the hay & range cubes she can eat. Lucky is very perky & upbeat because she gets all the milk she can drink! All's well at the farm!!

Playing Dress-up

Ayden decided that her baby brother needed a makeover. Here's the results. When Austin grows up, I don't think he'll appreciate his sister's efforts one bit, but I think he's adorable!!

Monday, Monday

Pop over to Judy's to see other DWM participants.

First, see my little man, Austin with his quilt. Isn't he a cutie!!
Sorry, I just had a GoGo moment. He has a cowlick that his mommy can't seem to tame. You can just make it out if you look carefully. He's such a happy baby and weighs a ton already. I know this because every time I get to play with him and lift him over my head a few times, I'm completely worn out, my arms feel like limp noodles.......LOL

Here's what I've gotten done along with baling hay & canning.
A little machine embroidery. It's not much but I think I'm back in the saddle again!!
Here's hoping everyone has a great last week of July...........can you believe it's the end of July!!!

Grands & Gardening

Austin is truly a bundle of joy & such a pudgy little cutie....just look at those cheeks!
Ayden is learning to identify coins. She is so funny. She was calling dimes diamonds....laugh out loud!
Gardening is very therapeutic for me. I find myself humming happily as I water the plants and watch the bees pollinate everything.
The tomatoes are coming along.
The bell peppers are as well.
I'm even trying my hand at growing pineapples but this will take until next year.
But what I'm really looking forward to are the cucumbers. Can't wait to can sweet pickles!! It's amazing how quickly the cucumbers seem to grow inches over night.....more pickles for me.

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
