By leaving your email within your comment, I can find you. I realize that this is sometimes a scary thing to do with scams and all but if you disguise the email as say.....

this is the perfect way to hide from the unwanted eye. So please help me out if you are one of the non-responders.
Thank you, in advance.....Ravelly Rhonda!!

Whoa! 2021 Is Almost Gone

Greetings everyone!!! Wow, it has been forever since I've posted. What have I been doing, you may ask?  Well, warning......this post will be packed with photos.

Celebrated Veterans Day at our Seniors Center

Taught a couple of classes at our church

Visited with the boys in the summertime

Looking comfortable with my cousin at our annual homecoming & above that photo is the food truck we had to serve a wonder meal to everyone.

Ayden has really grown up from a little cutie to a young lady....wow, GoGo feels really old!

I'm still in teacher mode of capturing photos of nature even after 15 years in retirement.

Found this card from my great uncle's years as a porter.

Mom & grandma in front of my great-grandfather's home circa 1949.

Been crafting & getting ready for a class.

Got the fever to bind several quilts.

Having a great time with my girlfriend at our get-to-gather Christmas party.

Layout in the garage for the little/big people for Christmas.

I hope to start blogging more regularly.......fingers crossed.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!

One Of My Favorite Things...

NOT!
Binding quilts, not at all my favorite thing to do but, alas, it's a must. What is one of your not favorite things to do when it comes to quilting?

Binding & Labels & Sleeves, Oh My!

Hello everyone. I've been away from blogging for what seems like months but it's only been a couple of weeks. What have I been doing, you ask??
Well, I've been doing my very least favorite things!
  1. Binding four quilts. I really don't like making and stitching binding. The quilts I worked on had been sitting, waiting for someone to finish them. But wait, I'm the someone. So I dug in and got that done, all by hand. I'll explain why in a minute.
  2. Labeling quilts. Not my favorite thing to do because I have to hand stitch them down.
  3. Sleeves! OMG!!!!! More hand stitching because I have a hair-brain idea of placing these quilts in my County Fair and possibly our State Fair in the summer. So of course, the quilts have to have things done by hand.
I know I brought all this on myself and I am actually proud of myself for getting them down.

After all that was done, I was surfing my blogging friends and came upon a pretty quilt by
Nancy at Wyoming Breezes. She named her quilt Diamond Facets and I was
fascinated with her colors and the off center of the HST (half square triangles)
"Off Kilter" measures 46" by 53" and was done all from my enormous stash which continues to grow instead of diminish!!!
I don't know if or when I'll add a border but I love this little quilt.

DWM-BOW

#6 of Gone Fishin is here.
My favorite fabric is the underbelly geometric scrap. I only had a little bit of it so I don't
know the designer.

Next, another finish. You remember this little quilt "In These Shoes"
Well I was very busy sewing and binding all weekend.
I used Gene's method of basting: hairspray!!
It worked like a charm. Thank you Gene for that fantastic suggestion. It worked like a charm!

Here are a few close-ups. I did tiny meandering throughout the quilt.

I bound the quilt in black.

Judy is our hostess for DWM so pop over and say Howdy!!

Tea Time Teapot Update & Design Wall Monday

Those of you who are participating in the Tea Time Teapot BOM have been asking about the size of the blocks. I purposefully didn't add that information to the PDF so that it would not influence you to just go with it. However, some have encouraged me to just give it up......LOL
I really didn't withhold the  info on purpose. I used 9 1/2 inch varied squares but if you wish to cut your blocks larger, please feel free to do so. Some like to have room to do elaborate quilting or add other embroidery to each block. The possibilities are endless.

Now for Design Wall Monday..... nothing on the "Wall" but I did spend my weekend binding 6, yes 6 king sized quilts.....whew!
Pop over to Judy's to see what everyone else it up to!

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
