Road Trip

The other day the "wackies" went on a road trip to Waxahachie, Texas to Common Threads. It's one of our favorite quilt shops. Of course we had a great time and managed to purchase some, ahem, fabrics.  After that it was time for lunch. The Dove's Nest was our next stop. The sandwiches and soups there are to die for and the blackberry bread pudding........well, I have no words.
If you are ever in the area, drop by to both places.

Quilt Shops

Today my girlfriends and I went on a road trip. We visited two quilt shops; Lone Star Quiltworks in Bryan, Texas and A Cowgirl Quilt Shop near Jewett, Texas.
Needless to say, we had a blast and purchased some great fabrics. Lone Star Quiltworks had excellent displays all around the store and it was well lighted.
After that we had lunch which revived us so we headed off the Jewett.
Kathy, our driver was, as Dustin Hoffman in "Rainman" once said, an excellent driver.
We made it to A Cowgirl Quilt Shop in time to do a little shopping. Brenda, the shop owner is a very friendly lady who has some great fabrics.  She will be participating in the Heart of Texas Shop Hop in January 2014.
Check out
now.
I'd show you the fabrics I bought but I'm too busy drooling over them....hehehehe

New Quilt Shop in Palestine, Texas

I am so excited to say that one of  my local cities has a new quilt shop.
Sew What Quilt & Sewing Shop
is located at
619 West Oak
Palestine, Texas
903.729.2889
Paula and Nikki Chaffin are the wonderful owners and are very friendly and helpful.
This is a Janome shop as well. They have great embroidery designs and beautiful fabrics.
I loaded up with gray fabrics.....you can never have enough gray in your stash. And I bought some pink for the little princess, Ayden.
The photo is a bit out of focus but trust me, those grays are delicious!!

Ring Me Up......Scotty

This past Friday was our chosen "Girls Day Out" and Christmas celebration.
This year we decided on shopping for fabirc (go figure)
We visited one of our favorite quilt stores.....Common Threads
in Waxahachie, TX.
The ladies are always very friendly and helpful.

We had a photo opt in front of their beautiful tree and all was well.

Look at all the stuff we bought......well, you really can't see the fabric but trust me......we shopped the house down!  After all that shopping, it was time for lunch at the Dove's Nest, a wonderful little soup, sandwich and salad place.....sorry, no pictures. By the time I thought about pictures, I had a mouth filled with delish tuna with cranberries and bean sprouts.
Next, we decided to take in a movie, "The Tourist".........which we liked because the language and nudity was nearly non-existent!!!!

As we were leaving the movie theater, Molly spied a photo booth except this one was a camera behind a curtain which was much better than us trying to stuff ourselves (the 5) into a very tiny booth.....don't ask.....but we have tried that before.  If you're wondering why my face looks slightly larger than everyone else.....it's because I was stooping down in front and believe my thighs were KILLING me........and was very close to the camera......Six photos later and a prayer that I would be able to rise again, this is our best or should I say the one that I'm willing to share with you......LOL.......so has you can see......we had a blast!!!

Nothing in Particular/Everything in General

My friend, Jerri and I went on a little road trip to one of our favorite quilt shops, Common Threads in Waxahachie, Texas.
I thought I went with a purpose......THREADS!  That's all I wanted or needed but Jerri started pointng out all kinds of things.  So, I'm blaming my little shopping spree on JERRI!  I went a little crazy picking out nothing in paricular and everything in general.  (I happy with my purchases...hehehehehhehehe)
Look at all that Eye Candy.
I've decided to be very careful this year with buying fabric for my stash, which doesn't need anything added to it.......LOL.........why is that when you start a new project, you neer have the right color in your stash?...............Well, anyway, this is my first "spend" for the 2010 year. I don't plan on shopping again until May.  Wish me luck!

3 Snaps Up1

Annale invited me and a mysterious person, seen in the middle, to investigate this neat quilt shop in Plano. Shhhhhh....it's really Molly in disguise. Anyway, we enjoyed yourselves so much & the shop's ladies were so wonderful to us. We give the "Carriage House" 3 snaps up. That means it a great place to find fabric. Check it out for yourselves. (Location: 3000 Custer Road, #170-Plano, TX;972-758-9916) For more info, visit the "WackyPac" blog.
