If you are a "non-responder or OpenID-er" which to me means I have no way of responding to a comment that you've left, please leave a way for me to get in touch with you, especially if you're participating in a blog give-away or if you are asking for information or links. By leaving your email within your comment, I can find you. I realize that this is sometimes a scary thing to do with scams and all but if you disguise the email as say..... me at yahoo dot com this is the perfect way to hide from the unwanted eye. So please help me out if you are one of the non-responders. Thank you, in advance.....Ravelly Rhonda!!
Good grief! Where have I been all this time? Well allow me to attempt to sum it up.....one word comes to mind......L A Z Y !
Yep, I've been extremely lazy, binge watching Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Peacock, Tubi and many more. I'm so ashamed to admit it but it's true. But now I'm sort of back.
I've done no sewing but have picked up a new hobby.......junk journaling, which is a type of scrapbook making. I think I've shown you all this type of thing before but ...... Let me show you what I mean....
This is one of my prototypes that just finished yesterday. I challenged a friend to do a flip/flop fold out folio. This inspired me to find new ways to do closures.
I did take a photo of the cover just in case my Secret Pal goes surfing my blog. This is what I've added in the last couple of days. I need to stop because the Junk Book is getting to fat....hehehehehe!
Most of my ideas so far have come from Pat at The Paper Outpost and Natasha at Treasure Books.
Joyce Carter sent me a link to fabric and memories. (Thanks sooooooo much Joyce...this from Mr. Cowboy.....cause I kind of threw you under the bus for giving me the link). I managed to save the link to my bookmark pages before Mr. Cowboy blew his top. I think he was really a bit hungry so I fixed him a quick snack. Anyway, look at these cute tiny envelops. They are so cute & very simlpe to make.
These tags were fun and quick to make as well.
On this page I threw in a little pocketbook calendar for 2023.
And finally, I made a dangly thingy for the back spine. I'm going to call it quits......maybe.
Remember, for some reason your comments do not show up in my email......trust me I've tried everything. So I've gone to responding in my comments. And thanks you all for the warm comments. I read each one as often as I can.
Hi everyone!! First of all I want to give a big thank you to Pam from The Paper Outpost (she's on YouTube) for introducing me to "Junk Scrapbooking!" Then there's Natasha from Treasure Books (also on YouTube) & Curio By B-Spoke Designs (sorry I've not caught his name & he's on YouTube as well).
Today I was working on 3 cover pages from Natasha.
Here are the 3 sets of items I pulled out to work on. At one point Mr. Cowboy came in needing breakfast.....sign!!!!!!
And then here they are all glued down. I really love how they all turned out and the tutorial was easy to follow. I did pause and rewind many, many times though. I may add more another day but at this point I've worn myself out!!
So here's my first doodle attempt....sorry I didn't take a better photo. It's an eye. I'm going to like this "Doodler" design program now that I understand and have practiced. The online facebook group is a fantastic resource when ironing out what to do.
The hankie folding is coming along. I just need to be more precise. The great thing about this process is if you mess up all you need to do is press out the folds and start over!!
Did I mention that I'm now into Junk Journaling?! Love it already but my head is spinning with so many ideas. These make great stocking stuffers.
I've had to use a timer so that I can work on the journaling then the hankies and the doodling.....LOL.
Oh yea, I need to get in some actual quilt block time too. So many projects...so little time.
Mr. Cowboy just walks by my sewing room and shakes his head.
What are some of your stocking stuffer favorites??
Hi Everyone! First let me tell you that I will try to respond to your comments via on the post comments. I have tried to respond via email but alas......it hasn't worked....sigh. So check back on occasion to view the comment area.
Now to the FYI
These are the gloves I use when handling raw chicken, pork, fish, etc. Why I did about using gloves before Covid.....well it's just one of those Duh moments. Any gloves will do but I like the thickness and less breaking at the fingernail area. Amazon carries these.
Finally, one of my wacky sisters was sitting in this lounge-rocker at a retreat. Of course I saw it, sat in it and had to have one. Amazon, again was the answer. Love mine!!
Mr. Cowboy says I need to stay off the Amazon website but for some reason I can't seem to hear what he's saying......hehehehehehe!!
Good heavens.......I've not been posting so quite some time. Here's a bit of what I've been doing in not certain order.
My community group hosted a car show. It was so much fun. The white Chevy truck took first place.
I won Best in Show and Go Texan at our County Fair. My quilt will go to Houston sometime in 2023.
Our church did a picnic in the the cemetery which sounds weird but we all had a blast fellowshipping and having lunch.
Look at this beautiful bloom!!
I went out to my jeep one morning and looked at the back window and observed this image. A bird obviously had flown into the window and left a perfect in flight image of itself. Priceless!!!
Texas morning weather back in August. That's fog.
Me & the wackies at retreat. I know we look at bit crazed but we were laughing so hard I'm surprised the photo came out pretty good.
Finally, here are two blocks from my latest or should I say first endeavor in many, many months.
So here's what I've been doing since I last posted.
It's been several years since I started my church blocks & finally, I decided on how I wanted to put them all together.
I've obviously chosen the Attic Window look. It took me months to select the fabric for that to happen. I wanted to churches to stand out so I went with gray tones and black. It's not finished yet, but thank goodness I did manage to get this far.
Then I've been working in my flower garden and watching all the beautiful blooms. So sit back and enjoy the view.
If you guessed a strange tree....you would be incorrect!!
I'm barely able to hold it up so that you can get a better view. Anyone guessed yet?
Ok, I've de-leafed it.....Any guesses?
My cousin Thelma called on New Year's Eve to offer this thing to me. I'd never dealt with this type before and was a bit apprehensive, to say the least. Ok....no more stalling...
This is a very large collard green stock.
Thelma had to talk me through the process of cutting the leaves off in order the cook them. I'm not a fan of the taste because they are more dense than mustard or turnip greens and took way longer to cook. Mr. Cowboy loved them.....go figure!
The migration of this little guy has started. It's a moth, of course and they are attracted to my garage night lights. This one is frozen in place for the moment because it's 45 degrees this morning......burrrr but not as cold as that icy weather we had the other week.
I have this card from my mom's things. It's my great-uncle's Brotherhood od Sleeping Car Porters. Mom talked about the travels Uncle A.D. and his wife took. I barely remember my uncle and not at all this wife but I will treasure this momento.
Greetings everyone. Wow! I didn't realize how long it's been since I've posted. Warning, this post will be filled with photos of the goings on around the farm and a couple of my favorite commercial videos thrown in.
First, my neighbor sold his old farm house and had it moved about 7 miles away.
Four days of digging, hammering, lifting, dragging & more cussing than I ever want to listen to again.....the house was finally on the truck....however, it was getting dark so the sheriff's deputy get the movers would have to start for the new destination in the morning....guess what?! They left the house right in the middle of the road all night long. Mind you, this is a 1 1/2 car road as it is, so they blocked all traffic overnight. Some of the people who live further down from me were stymied when trying to make it home that night. Of course there's a different route they can take but I can imagine them driving home & all of a sudden there's a house in the middle of the road & you can't get around it & you're wondering, "Have I lost my mind!"
Then there were the 2 snow & ice storms......OMG!!!!!
I was so afraid that the over a hundred year oak tree was going to fall over from all that ice on its branches but thank goodness it stood strong. As you might have heard, the power was out for days & the water as well. Thank goodness we have a generator which powered the whole house. We even had Internet capability throughout.
Before all all the snow happened, Mr. Cowboy decided he wanted a new garage but I'm naming it the "doghouse" ....hehehehehehehehe.
I'll take photos as things progress. The guys are kind of backed up from all the bad weather.
Finally, here are two of my favorite commercials. Every time I see them, I nearly fall over with giggles.
Enjoy!!
Do you have any commercials that you love to watch over and over?
