Something Is Wrong!!!

See this photo? Really take a good look at it. There's ice on the branches. The reason I'm talking about it is because.......well I live in central-ish Texas and we don't get this kind of weather around here very often. It's been about 15 years since I've seen it. Remember just the other week we had 6 inches of snow which took several days to melt.  Anyway, I slid down the steps of the porch the other day.....there was nothing I could do, I thought as I progressed down, down, down. Mr. Cowboy came running and joked that he thought there was an earthquake happening. Needless to say, I was not amused one bit. But I think he was joking because it scared me too. At least that's what he had better been thinking.
I'm ok. Just a couple of bruises. Thank goodness no broken bones. I've not gone outside again for the past couple of days and there's still ice everywhere.
Did I mention that I love summertime.....!
How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

Yikes! I'd be scared, too! Snow is pretty to look at but I don't want to be IN it - and ice is so dang dangerous - I don't want to be anywhere near it. I don't want to rub it in - but - since you asked - our weather has been sunny or partly cloudy the past week or so - ;))

Glad you survived your ice slide. Mr. Cowboy is truly funny. We got a few snow flurries when you got your snow but it is stinking freezing here right now. Stay warm

How is the weather here? WET and colder than I like. At least it isn't freezing. To the north of me there is a winter storm advisory that is closer than I care to think about.

I am glad to hear that you didn't break anything. Falls on ice can be really bad....plus it is more difficult for help to get there and transport you to the ER.
Take care, stay warm and hang in there. Summer WILL come again.

I live in central-ish Texas too and this weather is unbelievable...and it's just starting, I understand. I'm relieved you're not hurt. Take care.

Hi Rhonda I imagine my weather up here in the western prairies of Canada is probably the polar opposite of what you get. We typically don't get a huge amount of freezing rain, but, always some, usually just before it snows. Our winter temperatures typically range from the -5C to-20C with some dips below that. We have been in a polar vortex the past two weeks with temperatures hovering at the -35c to -40c . Our coldest night hit -52c with the wind chill. OUCH!! I tend to stay inside as much as I can at these times..... We are on the downside of winter now and although we will have turbulent weather the next 2 months, we will slowly warm up to Spring. Our usual last frost free day is typically mid-May which is when we all plant our gardens.. Although I do love having 4 distinct seasons, I do wish our Winters were not quite so long nor so harsh. haha.. Happy Valentines day to everyone

Your photo of the ice on the small branches of the tree is gorgeous. We don't get that where I live in Australia, and sounds like it is not normal for you too.

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
