Oh boy.......it's time for my next embroidery give-away. Lookie what's on display for one lucky winner. Six Veggies in "Blue-work." Thank goodness it's getting warmer so that when I do the drawing on April 8th, I won't have to worry about any cold weather as I'm walking over to my neighbor's, into his pasture with all those huge cows, flies, cow patties, snakes.............huuummmmmmmmm........I'll just ask my mom to draw a name.
My wonderful friend, Holly sent this cute kitty postcard. I don't know if you can see but she wrote with her machine "meow".......totally cool. Thanks Holly.

Brenda, our "fearless leader," asked us to rename our group, which was Postcard Buddies, to something new. We thought about it and voted on "Posty Pals," which I really like....Well I'm off to get started on next month's postcard.
Debb sent this Christmas postcard along with a wonderful letter. We belong to a great little Postcard Swap group which you can visit on my sidebar. I love making, giving and receiving the postcards and can't wait to share them with all my blogging friends. We joke about what the post office folks think when they come across our fabric cards. I'll bet they get a kick out of seeing all the different designs. Fabric postcards are a great way to say hello, I love you, feel better or thinking of you. Anyone would love to receive such a heart warming surprise.
I have been very busy lately with family, cooking and such that I fell behind with posting important things. First, here are the wonderful postcards that I've received....Brenda sent me the "Boo" and the Christmas Tree with yellow beads with a star on top. Thanks Brenda. The turkey came from Vicki.....Gobble,Gobble! The colorful flowers came from Holly. I'm in a group of talented ladies. Make sure you pop in on their blogs and take a look.

Lookie here now! These are all the goodies that I received from my miniature booty swap pal, Vickie. I had no idea who my secret pal was and was very happy to ogle all the wonderful things she sent me. We had a Christmas theme, so Vickie did a fireplace with stockings, presents, lights and angels. A kittie is warming by the fire as well. She also sent a yummy candy bar, 2 colorful FQs, a book entitled "The Top End - Australia's Northern Territory," and a pretty pin. WOW.....thank you so much Vickie!
Hooray! Look what came in the mail a couple of days ago. These postcards are from my good friend, Brenda. Isn't she talented! She also sent me a cute pattern of a frog. Brenda did I ever tell you the story about the frog that hopped onto my head? Well, it all happened......oh, never mind. That's for another time.
I don't know if I've said this before but, I have really enjoyed the postcard exchange. I've met some awesome ladies via blogging and made new friends from all over the world. I feel really blessed to be a part of a great group of people, women and men. Yes, the men are quickly learning that there's more to this sewing thing than they knew. It's relaxing and very addictive.

I bounded out to the mailbox and lookie what I got! A great package from my friend Maree. She was really good to me with this bundle. I had told her that Angie was having a baby in November(the first girl, BTW) and Maree sent me pink & green fabrics to add to my stash to make a quilt for the baby. Also included are a lovely card, a pattern to make a jumper for the baby, a kitted cap in the baby's colors(Maree did you do that yourself? If so....WOW! and thanks), a tin of cute flower buttons, a thoughtful book and socks. I am so blessed to have such a great friend.........I guess I'd better get busy making that quilt.
Why had the little creature !~#$%^&*~)~+....... chosen my yard to park himself in? Didn't he read the sign that says "This Ain't It" clearly posted on a fence post in my yard? What am I going to do? I can't shoo him away like you would a bird or a squirrel or a deer. He won't budge. In fact, as I walked near, he pulled himself inward and just sat there. Now I'm alittle rattled...think, think, think......ah! A solution....shovel and hoe......Now I sense some of you pulling away from me at this point.....but don't worry....I'm not a murderer of animals ...... or.....people........I scooped up the little critter onto the shovel, placed the hoe over him so he wouldn't fall off and walked down to my neighbor's tank and left the little fellow there with logs of frogs, cows, dragonflies and other turtles. I did, however, warn him about the dangers of traveling without a mail.

Lookie what I got in the mail today. It's from Courtney, my secret Apron sister. Wow, there are all kinds of goodies: 4 cozies, a cute zippered pouch, note cards and Tetley Orange Peach Tea,Ginger Peach Tea & Cranberry BLood Orange Tea.(Can't wait to try those out) And the beautiful green apples apron with a coffee cup on the pocket. Thank you Courtney. I love my gifts.
A few of my postcard buddies are going to receive these little cards very soon. Just in time for Halloween.......check your mail in a few days.
Reporting about labels. I actually made 3 quilt labels instead of 2. It was easy using the paper piecing method. The hardest thing was choosing the fabrics....LOL....My mom was visiting and commented on the precision of each piece.....Thanks mom....it took me roughly an hour to make all 3!
This is a great postcard from Carol. I love butterflies.....from afar.....LOL....those who really know me will get the LOL thingy......the fabric she chose for the wings look like the veins on butterfly wings.....Thanks Carol.

Hello to all my "Postcard" buddies. As "IKE" blew through my community I was thinking of what kind of postcard to make for everyone. My mom told me that grandma remembered a time when a similar storm rained fish......thus my theme for September. There's on the way to you and will arrive very soon but not by falling from the sky.....LOL
Lookie what I got in the mail today! Two great postcards from my friends Holly and Brenda. Holly's postcard is wonderfully adorned with flip-flops and she did free-motion quilting all around them. Thanks Holly. Brenda's postcard has hand embroidery. Beautiful work Brenda. You two ladies really brightened my too stressful day and made it into something to smile about. So I'm smiling big.....can you picture it?
Vicki sent me a wonderful postcard with a schoolhouse with a tiny bell on it. "Cute" I love the thread tree. Great job...........Holly sent me a "sunshine" card to brighten up my day, whith colorful butterflies fluttering about and sequins glittering in the light. Some of my blogging friends were curious to know what book I got the pattern for the Spinning Stars quilt, so I'm posting the cover. I love this book because the patterns are easy and fast, fast, fast!

BTW....It's time for another retreat. I'll be off to the Compass Center pretty soon for lots of sewing and laughter. I will be taking my computer and Janome so I'll be able to post and embroidery at the same time.....LOL.......expect pics.
