Merry Christmas to all the Posty Pals!
I really enjoyed the exchange and the friendship. A few ladies had to drop out and one wonderful lady, Carol passed away in April, which sadden us greatly. But through it all, I have grown and learned so much from my wonderful Posty friends.Ravelly's World

Memories & Postcards
Today is February 5th and it was my brother's birthday. I will never forget him and wanted to post about my memories. So I've linked to my last year's post to honor his memory. I was recently involved with 3 CaringBridge folks who touched my heart deeply. CaringBridge is a link that allows families to post daily journals about their ill loved ones. I was especially touched by a family whose 6 yrs. old who passed away from a terrible cancer. The little boy was here only for a brief time but he managed even in his illness, to reach out to others. He reminded me so much of my brother. I'm sure that there were times when the 6 yr. old was in pain, afraid and tired of all the procedures and needles but he never stopped fighting or trying to reassure his parents and other patients around him.
His parents and family are now going through the grieving process and my heart is right in there with them. Their son reminded me that I really have "nothing" to complain about or worry about in my good health.
I salute those brave child patients who, in their small mines, know what's important. Love! So, I'm passing what's important on to my fellow bloggers. Love one another, care for your fellow human being.
I have gotten behind in posting the postcards that I've received. So I'm doing some catch-up.
First, I received a great fur tree from Marie. Thank you, girlfriend. Marie & I have become great friends and try to encourage one another to get busy......LOL
Next up is a snazzy sparkly postcard from Vicki. She did some fancy thread work which doesn't show up & I know you can't see the sparkles but trust me they're there. I love sparkles. Thanks Vicki.
Finally, my good friend Carol did some paper-piecing to frame the cute angel kitty. Hope you doing well Carol. Thank you so much.
My postcard to all the group are on their way or already made it. Love you all and I'll try to do better with posting the pics.

Postcards & Apologies
Hello all!
This is just a quick post to thank my good friends Marie and Vicki for the beautiful postcards. Sorry, no pics at this time but trust me, the cards are great.
I want to apologies for "not" visiting everyones' blogs lately. Just when I think I have some time set aside, something happens which needs my immediate attention or someone comes by or calls or asks me to do something that is very time consuming. I have a feeling that alot of you all know how that is. Please hang in there, I'll get back to my old self sooner or later.......LOL

Lookie what I got from Karen in Australia. The envelop is made from fabric. It is so cool. The card had a wonderful message written in it and the picture on the cover is of some of the things she's working on.
Karen doesn't have a blog but I wanted to share with everyone her wonderful work. Thank you so much Karen.

Where To Begin
Nov 21, 2008
Hooray! Look what came in the mail a couple of days ago. These postcards are from my good friend, Brenda. Isn't she talented! She also sent me a cute pattern of a frog. Brenda did I ever tell you the story about the frog that hopped onto my head? Well, it all happened......oh, never mind. That's for another time.
I don't know if I've said this before but, I have really enjoyed the postcard exchange. I've met some awesome ladies via blogging and made new friends from all over the world. I feel really blessed to be a part of a great group of people, women and men. Yes, the men are quickly learning that there's more to this sewing thing than they knew. It's relaxing and very addictive.

Postcards From The Edge
Gone Wild.....that's what I thought of when I found this fabric a few years ago. I bought the fabric with nothing in mind. Has anybody else done that? LOL.....Anyway, it's time to send out postcards to all my swap buddies......so coming to you from a swapper near or far from you.

Mail Call & A Turtle Story
Give-a-Way - T is giving away a great pillow. Go and check it out.
Here are two wonderful postcards from my good friends Holly and Carol. Pop over to their blogs and see what they are up to. My postcard friends are really wonderful.
I bounded out to the mailbox and lookie what I got! A great package from my friend Maree. She was really good to me with this bundle. I had told her that Angie was having a baby in November(the first girl, BTW) and Maree sent me pink & green fabrics to add to my stash to make a quilt for the baby. Also included are a lovely card, a pattern to make a jumper for the baby, a kitted cap in the baby's colors(Maree did you do that yourself? If so....WOW! and thanks), a tin of cute flower buttons, a thoughtful book and socks. I am so blessed to have such a great friend.........I guess I'd better get busy making that quilt.
And now for the rest of the story......Today started with a 56 degree morning....loved it......I lounged around in the bed, watched the birds fight at the birdfeeder outside my bedroom window, chatted with Kath for a few minutes, answered some e-mial, had cereal....you know a peaceful morning. I finally dragged out of bed, slumped into my studio, stitched on a binding, pinned it for later to sew down and wondered into my yard. It's about 69 degrees now and I'm walking about the yard picking up fallen limbs when I spot a lump under the Crepe Myrtle......hummmmmm, I thinking what in the world could that be.....not a snake to lumpy, not a squirrel to smooth, not a rabbit they're over by the last of my garden munching leaves. What could it be.....slowly, cautiously I moved towards the creature. The closer I came the more worried I became.....It was a turtle...far, far away from a pond or tank as we refer to it around these parts.
Why had the little creature !~#$%^&*~)~+....... chosen my yard to park himself in? Didn't he read the sign that says "This Ain't It" clearly posted on a fence post in my yard? What am I going to do? I can't shoo him away like you would a bird or a squirrel or a deer. He won't budge. In fact, as I walked near, he pulled himself inward and just sat there. Now I'm alittle rattled...think, think, think......ah! A solution....shovel and hoe......Now I sense some of you pulling away from me at this point.....but don't worry....I'm not a murderer of animals ...... or.....people........I scooped up the little critter onto the shovel, placed the hoe over him so he wouldn't fall off and walked down to my neighbor's tank and left the little fellow there with logs of frogs, cows, dragonflies and other turtles. I did, however, warn him about the dangers of traveling without a mail.

Vicki sent me a wonderful postcard with a schoolhouse with a tiny bell on it. "Cute" I love the thread tree. Great job...........Holly sent me a "sunshine" card to brighten up my day, whith colorful butterflies fluttering about and sequins glittering in the light. Hey, I think that poetic.......Thanks ladies. Be sure to visit their blogs, just scroll down my sidebar to the Postcard section to get there.
Some of my blogging friends were curious to know what book I got the pattern for the Spinning Stars quilt, so I'm posting the cover. I love this book because the patterns are easy and fast, fast, fast!
