By leaving your email within your comment, I can find you. I realize that this is sometimes a scary thing to do with scams and all but if you disguise the email as say.....

this is the perfect way to hide from the unwanted eye. So please help me out if you are one of the non-responders.

Stringing With Some Friends

Gene & a couple of other blogging friends prodding me into the string fever so I got into the sewing room, pulled out some tissue like paper for foundation, decided on a center & got that glued in place. Like Gene, I'm a bit OCD, which means for me, I can't just go with totally pulling random strips from a bag. I had to at least have a center in one fabric all the way through.

Another Fractured Diamond Design

I purchased this fabric the other month and saw many possibilities.

So of course, I started cutting into it with another fractured diamond in mind.

I drafted a kite shape from cardboard and cut 24 out to begin with because I didn't know how large I wanted the quilt to be.

I already like the looks of this.

Here's one block.  Each block is 8 1/2" unfinished. My plan is to use up as many scrap strips as possible without them growing into a mountain......sigh!!

And now 8 blocks. Now I just have to get busy and build a quilt. Stay turned. For some reason, things (quilting) have slowed down around here as hay season gets into a full swing. It just might take awhile before this string gets done.
Happy May everyone!!!

Piecing, Finally!!

I decided to dive in & sew something. Strings are fast & gratifying.
Thirty-six 12.5 inch foundations with a winderful paisley center strip to start.
Some tone-on-tone type fabric strips all from my stash.
36 completed blocks later.....
Here's the top with no borders yet. That will come later, I hope....laugh out loud!

;-}
