Reminder

If you are a "non-responder or OpenID-er" which to me means I have no way of responding to a comment that you've left, please leave a way for me to get in touch with you, especially if you're participating in a blog give-away or if you are asking for information or links.
By leaving your email within your comment, I can find you. I realize that this is sometimes a scary thing to do with scams and all but if you disguise the email as say.....
me at yahoo dot com
this is the perfect way to hide from the unwanted eye. So please help me out if you are one of the non-responders.
Thank you, in advance.....Ravelly Rhonda!!

So Sad

You may remember little Buzzard Bait (AKA: BB)  (AKA: Sugar & Cream).....well, she's a big girl now and was very happy the other day when I visited her frolicking in the pasture. She even stopped and posed for the camera
but..............

today, she's not so happy. She is being weaned from her mommy and has a long face as she looks at me from the trailer. Her mommy is very happy that BB is going away for awhile. She didn't even notice when BB was loaded into the trailer. Mom's face was buried in some range cubes, as usual.
I'm saying goodbye to BB for a few weeks but don't worry, she'll be back before we know it.

Off The Grid Give Away

While Mom is convalescing at home from surgery, I'll be out of pocket, off the grid, taking a hiatus, out of contact....... sorry.....
from the blogging world.......... but I'll be thinking about you all and I may even get to peek at a few of my favorite blogs before long.  In the meantime, it's occurred to me that I've not done a give-away in awhile. So when I get back to blogging in a week or so, I'll be giving away
20 (twenty) 9 inch squares of some of my best fabrics. I've got some wonderful pieces that I found when looking for something else..... some of you know how that happens.
Here's a photo of the 20 squares that someone will be adding to their collection. All you'll need to go to get you name in the "HAT" is to leave a comment on this post and as soon as I get a chance to check in I'll draw a name and get the winner posted!!

Gook luck, in advance.

Two Old Sisters

The title isn't true because this post is about two brothers daughters.
The term "old sister" is something we identify older church going ladies of the church and is an endearment of love and respect.
Last week two of our community's oldest members passed away on the same day. Now, if that isn't enough they were the daughters of two brothers. And if that's not enough, both were over ninety years old.
These ladies were my cousins whom I've been lucky enough to have known all my life. Their wisdom and love will be missed greatly but their memories will live on in every life they touched.

Cousin C. - 92 years old

My Good Friend...Jerri

Miss Me, But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me...
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room...
Why cry for a soul set free...
Miss me a little - but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that was once shared....
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take,
and each must go alone....
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
a step on the road to home....
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
go to the friends we know.....
Bear your sorrow in good deeds....
Miss me, but let me go.

A Home Going

In the past month or so several people that I know have passed away naturally and tragically. Some fairly young, others a little older, still others elderly but it got me to thinking about my life, my mortality, my worth. As I have grown in the Word and my understanding of life and death, I don't fear death as I would have when I was 20. Many years have passed, many of my friends and family members have gone on and I must admit, I wept and got a little depressed but I do know that as David said in 2 Samuel 12:23 "He cannot come back to me but I will go to him one day." I know that I am born again and in life there is death for a short while. I, also wanted to post this poem which I read years ago and saw in some movie once....I think of this poem every now and then........
DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so, For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow, Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me. From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee, Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow, And soonest our best men with thee doe goe, Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie. Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men, And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell, And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well, And better then thy stroake; why swell'st thou then; One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally, And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die.......John Donne
