This is the T-shirt quilt top that I started and finished at retreat. A friend's son has been collecting these for "years" and his mom saved them. Since I taught him in 4th grade, she wanted me to make the top....kind of a sentimental thing.....I thought it was very sweet and I was honored.
I used the old Steam-a-Seam method then zigzagged around each design. Piece of cake.....not hardly but it wasn't as difficult as I thought. It helps to have great girl friends cheering you on!
The above are the Row Robins our "wacky" group is working on this year. I chose vertical rows of vines, so the group is hard at work to complete them......we really didn't set a completion date because things never go as planned, so we're really rolling with the flow.
This beauty is Annie's (no blog) requested challenge from 2 years ago. We all made blocks with a Texas theme and Annie finished it off. This was the last quilt that our friend Jerri was able to participate in, so Annie really cherishes this one.

The T shirt quilt looks great!! It's great that you also had him as a student.
Those vines are going to be fabulous.
Great projects with a variety of techniques. The idea to zigzag the t-shirts on the pieced background is awesome. Love the effect of the pieces floating over the top.
Oh I agree, what fun projects and that Texas quilt...let's just say....glad I am not in the same room with it, it might come up missing....(blushing)!!
