Check List

I'm sure that those of us that go on regular retreats will know what I'm talking about as you read this post.
My "wacky" sisters of the heart and I go on retreats fairly often (at "deer camp"....one of our most favorite places to me & the occasional far away retreat), so I have learned to have what I call my "keep packed" bag ready.  I have in it me bath towels, soaps, shampoo, make-up, night-wear, favorite pillow, quilt for the bed, comfy shoes and snacks.  That's the easy part.
Next comes the stuff that I "need" and can't pack until the day before......my quilting chair, assortment of fabrics, my 5 drawer thread/scissor/tape measure/other tools I might need drawer, rulers, iron, small cutting mat, did mention assortment of fabrics, extra tables....a small one and a 4 ft one, the clothing I'm going to wear for a few days, an assortment of fabrics and the last minute things that I can cram into those tiny air pockets in the car.
Does this sound familiar to anyone else?????  If it does or not, I'd love to hear what you pack for retreats.
Oh, BTW, I'll going on retreat for a few days, so it you don't hear from me.......don't worry....I'll have plenty to show and tell on Monday.

Exhibit "A"
Hey, I see a couple of more inches in the back...LOL

This is how I look, minus the 5-drawer unit, when I go to retreat. In addition, I have a friend who need to add her stuff as well. I take most of what you mentioned, my own chair, extra tables, my sew-ez table, etc.

By the way, I see you cover the bottom of the SUV with a sheet or something. Is your carpet mat reversible? In mine, I never use the carpet side because it would get dirty. Underneath is a rubber size that I use on a daily basis. It's not as pretty, but I'm not having to worry about dirt from the wheels staining the carpet.

I hope you did not forget your sewing machine. (I have never retreated. & when I go to my monthly sew-n-tell I usually just cut or trim or press...)

I'd love to bring a small set of drawers but when we go, I am usually one of the drivers and I have a couple others in my car and with their items, I can't fit anything like a small set of drawers. (I couldn't fit a table, eiter....but never actually thought of taking one.) Have a great time!

Pack a bunch of extra underwear for all of the laughing. You ARE one of the Wackies after all.

Wow! That's a lot of stuff! I love packing for retreat...the anticipation, the deliberation over which projects to work on. We have a co-ordinator who emails us a list of supplies to bring so we don't forget anything...but someone always does forget something and someone else always has enough to share!

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
