Moose At Morning's Light

So I got some free time this morning and pulled out some fabric completely messing up my clean sewing room....hehehehehehehehe

I've had this clipart moose for a month and decided to dive in to make it my own.

I used a mixture of batiks, solids and small prints.

I added the silhouette of the male moose.

I trimmed up the area and placed the whole thing on a background fabric.
Then I thought, hey, why not do something a bit wacky, which is so me!!! I added a tree in the foreground just for fun.  Not to worry, I haven't pressed everything down.  So what are your thoughts on the matter? Leave off the tree or keep the tree?! And do I need a different background?
I really want your opinions.

Rhonda, it looks absolutely wonderful. I really love the background just as it is. I think I would leave everything the way you have it now. (You might could add a bird or two at the top--just my opinion.

My two cents - I like him better without the tree - ;))

He's just perfect. I would leave off the tree, though he is amazing both ways. The background is just right in my humble opinion.

I like both of them but leaning toward without the tree. The background is perfect. Wish I had your talent because I would love to be able to do one like this with an elk for my son!

Was thinking to leave the tree off even though I love the look of the tree. My reason was that the top right had this empty space look, but maybe after quilting it wouldn't look so empty.
Doing just the moose is wonderful. My whole thing is the background space and where the appliqué pieces would be situated. Centered or off centered? Would tend to center the moose if that was the only item. If adding the tree then.......
It's fun giving my thoughts. Remember either way is perfect! Always enjoy your thought process.

Perfect with or without the tree, even though I think I like it with the tree better. Another work of art from you and inspiration to shake up the piece I am working on. Thanks for being a blog friend.

I love the tree. I think it balances the composition.

ps - I see that some spammer (co coya) copied my last comment and added a link of some kind. I would delete that one if I were you.

I'm voting for the tree too...definitely.

The moose seems bigger without the tree, but he seems more at home with the tree. I vote keep the tree. It's a beautiful piece either way!
