Reminder

If you are a "non-responder or OpenID-er" which to me means I have no way of responding to a comment that you've left, please leave a way for me to get in touch with you, especially if you're participating in a blog give-away or if you are asking for information or links.
By leaving your email within your comment, I can find you. I realize that this is sometimes a scary thing to do with scams and all but if you disguise the email as say.....
me at yahoo dot com
this is the perfect way to hide from the unwanted eye. So please help me out if you are one of the non-responders.
Thank you, in advance.....Ravelly Rhonda!!

Summer-Mini Swap

Hooray! My swap buddy, Tara sent me a wonderful mini-quilt along with some fabulous goodies. Our challenge was to make something that reminded us of summer. Note Tara's writing, "Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability." By Sam Keen. That's what I'm talking about. I love the saying.
Along with the quilt, Tara sent a note to me, a package of "nickel squares," and 3 great fabric cards with envelops. This is so neat. Thank you Tara! Make sure you click on the link to Tara's blog to see what she's up to now.

Favorite Fabric Monday

An oldie but goodie - "Bee Chamers" - Jennifer Sampou for P&B Textiles. I've had this fabric for at least 8 years and have used it in several projects. There's just something about it that makes me smile.

Second "T"

I finally finished the second "T-shirt" quilt top for a friend of mine. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, so now I'm thinking of doing one for myself.....I have a collection of Ts from my years of teaching school.

New Thingy!

Don't bother adjusting your monitors.....LOL.....these pics were made from a wonderful thing that I've just recently discovered.
As with everyday life, I've been really busy these past couple of weeks but finally the other day I got around to looking through one of my newer quilting magazines....can't remember which one........anyway, as I read it through, at the very back of it was an add, with pictures, about how-to jazz up your quilts by using a type of software that turns a picture of any kind, into a "Montage". Well, I just had to have it......yes I did........that's really all I need......a new project.........LOL..............I ordered it right away and faster than you could say " WACKY"...it arrived day before yesterday..........I've been playing every since.
The new thingy is "Photo Montage" by ArcSoft. It allows you to paste a photo onto its clipboard and then, said photo, with a click of a button, is turned into a beautiful montage using all kinds of tiny pictures. Now my head is spinning with possibilities for blocks and quilts.
I'm going to need more time........LOL

T-Shirt Quilt / September Give Away

Don't forget my "Followers" September give-away. Just leave a comment at the LINK to be considered. The deadline is September 25th!!!!!
The T-shirt quilt is my first attempt at working with Jersey material. A friend of mine is going to have it quilted by one of my "wacky" sisters, Kath. T-shirt fabric is very stretchy and needs stabilizing. As for the other blocks, I used a Stack-N-Slash method.

Shadow Tutorial

The vidoes are finally done. Please feel free to turn off my music on the Sidebar so that it's easy to hear the tutorial. As promised, here are 3 videos of the process I use to make a "shadowed block." A surprise for everyone, including my loyal "Followers" is that I'm giving this block away as my September Give Away. So if you're interested, just leave a comment and your name will be placed in "the hat". The drawings will take place September 25th. I have left plenty of space around the block for whatever application you desire. If something wasn't clear, please comment about that, as well, & I will be happy to chat with you to make things clearer.

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
