I'm Totally Septic!!!!!

I know you thought by the title of this post that my mood was not as it should be.....happy......I was a bit deceptive. Sorry about that but I couldn't help myself.  As you may know, if you are a follower of my blog, that a new home is in the works. It's a slow process. Sort of a hurry up and wait. Some days or weeks nothing seems to happen and then, all of a sudden, we've got everyone showing up to work on things.
Well, yesterday the septic guys showed up with all sorts of equipment and the largest tank or tanks I'd ever seen.
Since we live in the country and the house I lived in was over 60 years old, I didn't realize that this new "fangled" thingy was the new code. In a word, "WOW!"

Since we've had about 30 inches of rain in 2 months, that wonderful sugar sand I live with was constantly caving in before the guys were ready for that to happen but finally things are in place and we now have running water.
Can you say yippie skippy?!
Hopefully things will continue to move forward and a bit faster. Fingers crossed & all.

  2. Love it when things come together---hate it when it takes forever. Maybe your progress will be much faster from now on.

  6. I grew up with a septic system but this is the first time I've seen a picture of what was beneath the sod (so to speak). Interesting!

  7. I remember remodeling and expanding our house. It was the same way. All the framers came and everything was up in a weekend. Yay, fast work - and then we waited and waited and waited for the next step! I was at school the day they put the new septic in - required even though we didn't add a single water in or out connection, just moved one. But you do what the inspectors say, right? This is a big step, and I hope other big steps come along faster.
