Here's a great tip if your machine is having trouble with certain threads.
Some threads don't like the way your sew machine or embroidery machine loads the thread because of the way the thread is wound from the manufacturer. I use a child's sippy cup to remedy this fact. As you can see from the photo, you simply place the thread inside the cup, pull the end thru the lid & screw the lid on. Now you can thread your machine the way your usually do.
I hope this tip helps those who are having trouble with threads.
Rhonda this might just be the tip I need for a problem I had during a recent sewing weekend this past week. I tried Missouri Star Quilt Company's thread and my Elna 760 did not like it one bit! I put the spool horizontal and vertical but nothing seemed to work. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThat is a solution that I had not yet heard of. It amazes me how some threads for whatever reason don't work with some machines.
ReplyDeleteI bought a fancy dancy stand thing that was supposed to work (and doesn't). I'm in the market for a sippy cup now because it looks a whole lot better! Thanks for the hint.
