Here I go again with another BOW (Block of the Week)!
"House Haunters"
I couldn't help myself. I've been thinking about making haunted houses with a little character all summer.
So here's the first installment of 4.
I'm thinking of adding a fifth block of a dead tree trunk but haven't worked that one out yet.
I chose black mottled fabric for the background which I cut 8 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches but you could make yours 12 inches square if you prefer.
I dug in my stash to find appropriate fabrics. You should see my sewing room now.......can you say explosion!!
Anyway, I love the roof fabric of a plaid type. I used a dark green to define the ground line, just to add some interest.
I also used DMC floss for the window panes.

Just copy and paste.
I hope you will join me in this little four to five week adventure.
If you've gotten this far you are in for a treat give-away!!
These 5 five inch square fabrics are great ones to use in any project, especially the
House Haunters BOW.
Mention the number 5 in your comment to be counted in the give away.
I will announce a winner this Friday, September 6th.
Rhonda this is so cool. Off to print it. Thanks. You are always so generous.
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to follow along with this BOW! Printed it and I will check my stash when I get home to see if I have any fabrics that will work. Since your post on using the back of fabrics, it has opened new possibilites. Did you use the back of your fabric for the front of the house? In any case, I would love to win all five (teehee) fabrics in the giveaway. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteRhonda i forget to mention the number 5. Also do you have the pdf for the house? I cannot enlarge it on my printer.
ReplyDeleteMe encanta, hay que nombrar el numero 5 y ahi va, me paso muy muy a menudo por este maravilloso blog

ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda. I think your house is definitely haunting. I love your choice of fabrics, especially the black molted. I would love the chance to win the five fabrics. Thank you for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda what a great new BOW. Haunted houses wow how scary.....I think if you didn't use a dead tress as block # 5 you could always make a tombstone or cemetary marker...I love halloween such a fun time of year.
ReplyDeleteI love the haunted house Rhonda but could you do one more house to make it five please??
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I just finished a simple Halloween quilt and I am already overextended, but I think this is on my next year list. I think that 5 blocks would be great, and maybe a sixth for the tombstone that someone else mentioned. What a fun project.
ReplyDeleteWicked! I love it. You promised four blocks but want us to mention five, The fifth block could be a spooky tree. You're good at trees too.
ReplyDeleteI love how your mind works...this is just the bats screech!!
ReplyDeleteI love the new Bow and the fabrics you used. I like to win the stuff you give away.
