My friend Guilitta made this beautiful blue tone quilt for a friend. She has given me permission to post about it. I love the colors and I think her border is great. So often we think that borders should be the traditional one color type but more and more we quilters are branching out and getting creative. Thank you Guilitta for allowing me to post and show off the quilt you made as a gift. |
This is a top you've seen in a couple of my posts of the "Fractured Diamond" pattern which is very similar to Guilitta's blue beauty.
Playing around with designs can result in many happy surprises. So jump in and create!!
I love your quilt. I have seen a blue version but I love what you did with yours. Beautiful job. This quilt is on my bucket list...I think it's in the second century!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved what you did with the fractured diamond. I really like the blue version your friend made too.
ReplyDeleteI can never say enough how beautiful your fractured quilts are
ReplyDeleteI am very proud to show you my Quilt.
ReplyDeleteI was very amazed to see that your Fractured Diamond is very similar to my Scrapquilt, although the path is different then yours. You are right, what you say about the border, we must break out of our comfort zone, allow us to be more creativ and break the rules in our head. This was the first time I've done it and in my eyes it looks so much better. The fabric I had was simply not enough for a one colour type and so I decided to this temporary solution. The quilt measures 63 x 86.6 cm. It is gequilted partially with the machine and the Border by hand.
I hope you can understand my bad English

Sorry, I meant inch, not cm! In cm it is: 220 x 160cm.
