After yesterday's post where I demoed how I baste small quilts using masking tape and safety pins, several of my blogger friends chimed in with some of the methods they have used.
What are your basting methods. I'd love to know because I'm looking at machine quilting about 7 quilts and I really need easy ways to baste. So, talk to me, please.

Hi, I use the 5 5 spray and I also use a product called pinmoor

These great things you use with straight pins and you don't have the hasel of safty pins which I find hard to use and remove when quilting. They are a little pricey but well worth it. I just have a pkg of 50 and I find they are enought for me unless you are doing quite large quilts. Marla
I love using 505 spray and will only pin baste when my can runs dry!
ReplyDeleteI pin baste.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I pin baste some of my projects, I also have used Sulky's kk2000 Temporary Adhesive Spray. I like kk2000 because it's effective, I only have to use like spritz's, and it doesn't harm the environment like some spray adhesives do. Good luck on your search for alternate methods of basting your quilts.
ReplyDeleteI am just about the quilt one that I actually thread basted. The difference is that I used a water soluble thread. I'll let you know how that goes. For the most part, I love to pin baste on my hand quilting frame and then quilt on the machine.
ReplyDeleteI love 505 spray adhesive on small projects. I have never quilted a larger quilt on my machine but I'm working up to it. I will probably use both spray adhesive and pins too. I just received an order of pimoors and I'm looking forward to using them because I hate use safety pins!
