Another Use .....

See the paisley fabric in the block above. It's from a border fabric I bought a few years ago.  You know, one of those moments of impulsive buying. You get the picture.  Well, after much thought as to what to do with it once I bought 6 yards ........ I know, I know ...... crazy!
I decided to use it in one of our "wacky" challenges, which turned out beautifully.
I love the look of this quilt because of the effect of the dark and light sides of the blocks.  The border fabric was placed in the center diagonally across. Hope that wasn't too confusing.

Now, I was left with the rest of the border fabric.  BTW, I hand cut (no rotary involved) the border sections apart.
I used an ugly not so pretty fabric as a base to flip and sew. Note that I also placed the border fabric off center in these blocks.  I also sewed light fabrics on opposite ends to get a secondary design.

I need to make several more blocks before I decide how this will be sewn together.
This is a FQ that I bought recently. Not enough to make a quilt but maybe an apron.
So the next time you're in your favorite quilt shop, don't pass up that border fabric.
