Pillow & Applique`

I finished my Mariner's Compass block (20inches square) and am planning to make a pillow to go on a chair in the livingroom.....pictures to follow when that's done.

Look at this great block I made from "Shadow Applique`" by Hetty van Boven. I have a picture of the book on my sidebar.  The book is published by That Patchwork Place - Martingale & Company issue.
My plans for the month of March are to make several blocks from this book to go in a project I working on. The block measures 16 1/2".....in fact all of the blocks in this book have that measurement.

    What is shadow applique? And....please don't tell me you made that difficult-looking shadow-applique block just in the last couple of days!!!
