Monday, Monday - Going Wonky

It's Design Wall Monday - pop over to Judy's to see what others are up to.

After getting the fractured diamonds out of my system, I've now gotten into making log cabins. However, I decided to make the blocks askew or wonky.
I made the blocks 7 1/2 inches so that I could trim them to 6 1/2 inches by tilting the square ruler 30 degrees. Didn't that sound intelligent. Actually I don't know what degree I used. I just eyeballed it.
Here's the first little quilt - 36" square.
And here's the other which is also 36". No borders on either at this time.

  2. Love the idea. It kind of looks like a bunch of drunk cowboys put up a log cabin. ;-)

  6. Log cabin is one of my favorite blocks. It is so versatile. Wonky makes it even more fun. I especially like the second quilt. Way to raise the barn Rhonda!

  8. As I am one of the rare quilters who has never done a log cabin. I need to do a regular one first. But I do really like this one.
