Weathered the Storm

Who would have believed that a hurricane named "IKE" with winds reaching 90 to 100 miles per hour would reach roughly 300 miles inland? Well it happened yesterday around 10AM. I'm talking wind, rain, lightening......did I mention wind. That was the worst part because the wind blew leaves, limbs and yes, trees all over the place. So much so that it knocked out the electricity in my community. You have never seen a woman panic as I did yesterday. Why, you might ask? Well, I'll tell you. Menopause, that's what I'm talking about. Hot flashes, sweating.....hot flashes. I was in full panic without my cold, central air folks. Three hours into it, I had called the electric company at least 5 times using a different voice each time. I'm not crazy, I didn't want them to be mad at me. Eventually the problem was fixed and I cooled off. But it wasn't a pretty picture.

  2. I'm glad to hear that you weathered the storm alright, and that things have "cooled off" for you. I'll bet you weren't the only menopausal woman calling the electric company!
Your little "Tree" swap quilt that you received is very cute! I like that all the trees are different.

  4. Those "little" hotflashes sure do cause "HUGE" problems; I have told hubby that this winter he may not get to run the heater at all! I produce enough for the household. LOL. Glad you weathered the storm.

  5. Good to know that you haven't flooded away....and I do hope your fabrics survived the moist HEAT!

As for your hotness....it good you were only without power for a short time! (think of it as a sauna!)

  6. I'm glad that they fixed the problem! I am in Florida right now, but the power at my house in Cincinnati has been out since Sunday at 1 PM. My aunt and cousin are staying with my dogs and they are not happy campers!

  8. So glad to hear that you didn't suffer damage from Ike. Well, not lasting damage, just some temporary internal power surges! *giggle*
