I think I'm just worn out from taking care of children this summer. I was overloaded with expectations of care for them. I just can't do that again. I'm in a funk. I'm sad but not depressed. I think I could be doing handwork but that takes prep work and I don't feel like doing that either. I went six weeks without touching my knitting either. Maybe we need vitamins. I look at a knitting board and the old ladies on there are knitting like crazy and I'm sitting on my duff. Hope you get some interest soon. My son and I are going to try to combine my sewing room and my bedroom so the little one can have her own room. He's going to have to do the bulk of the work. Have a good day and try to think positively. I found...I've been in a creative crash myself. I found that guilt works best for me. Pure fear of fallout from my quilty friends gave me my mojo back. I started with a small project (mini quilts) and it has blossomed into me getting back in gear to finish up some UFO's that I truly love working on. Now I'm afraid I want to quilt instead of harvesting the garden and canning/freezing/drying. Whatever makes you happy, you should do! This weekend my farm is in the solar eclipse path of "totality" and my little bitty small town is putting on a spectacular party. The LQS is even hosting a mystery quilt retreat. Tons of inspiration happening!Jonihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08385598424590019536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5015440612643651670.post-61066282408646075142017-08-19T07:13:48.639-05:002017-08-19T07:13:48.639-05:00My gramma always used to say "that too shall ...My gramma always used to say "that too shall pass" and find myself thinking about that phrase when I find my most favorite things aren't so favorite for a few days. So far I've always got back on track. You will too!

We haven't had a hot summer so far so can't blame that on my slump days. What we've had so much of is gray cloudy rainy days.

Love your Fractured diamonds. Especially the red, black and gray one. It's so elegant. Sometimes I want to be in my sewing room, but part of me wants to be some where else, especially if the weather is nice. When it happens to me, I just close my door to the sewing room and take a sewing break. Usually after a couple of days, I start thinking about a project and then I go back to my sewing room and I will be very excited about getting back there. So maybe you just need to get away from all of it for a while. I hope you get your sewing mojo back soon. Enjoy your weekend.Joyce Carterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13231762679528853851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5015440612643651670.post-1989397933685965822017-08-18T16:38:05.563-05:002017-08-18T16:38:05.563-05:00Often a slump does happen when the weather is warm...Often a slump does happen when the weather is warm and I think subconsciously it's your mind telling you that you should be outside. What I find often works is to make up your mind that you're going to work on something for 15 minutes (set the timer). Once that time is up you have 'permission' to set it aside until the next day when you repeat the exercise. Pretty soon you ignore the timer and discover that you have your mojo back.Magpie's Mumblingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09852241848575954128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5015440612643651670.post-68788971444503584032017-08-18T14:55:05.984-05:002017-08-18T14:55:05.984-05:00I think you need to call 911....
