Veteran's Quilt Part 2

Sorry about the view of my toes....lol!!
I finished stitching down the eagle for the most part & decided to have a look at the other part of my project that spurred me to take this on in the first place. It's from a Bargello leftover. These days I don't throw anything away. After looking at the two together I knew it needed something. Mr. Cowboy strolled by & also noted that it needed something. So I decided to sleep on it. You know that things come to us quilters while we sleep.....hehehe!
After a couple of nights sleep I came up with the solution below.
I added a strip withe the words " Land of the Free" to divide the two. Mr. Cowboy was pleased & gave me two thumbs up.
All I need to do next is add a border. Stay tuned.
I saw this little funny on someone's blog & thought I'd re-share it.

Spot on. Isn't it great we can solve issues while sleeping. Sometimes I wake up in the night and find solutions to things I didn't even know I was looking for. Your project looks wonderful.

That's perfect. It looks wonderful. I chuckled at the cartoon too.

That is a great addition. The words really help tie together the two parts of the quilt. Love the chuckle too.

I liked the layout in the first photo, but REALLY like the second version. Obviously worth a two thumb's up!

If I had more than 2 thumbs, I'd up 'em! That is a wonderful quilt, and the perfect solution with the two pieces. I love this one!
