Reminder

If you are a "non-responder or OpenID-er" which to me means I have no way of responding to a comment that you've left, please leave a way for me to get in touch with you, especially if you're participating in a blog give-away or if you are asking for information or links.
By leaving your email within your comment, I can find you. I realize that this is sometimes a scary thing to do with scams and all but if you disguise the email as say.....
me at yahoo dot com
this is the perfect way to hide from the unwanted eye. So please help me out if you are one of the non-responders.
Thank you, in advance.....Ravelly Rhonda!!

From My Garden-BOW

A head of lettuce.

Here's a unique recipe:
Lettuce Sauce
  • Combine the lettuce, egg yolk, small can of capers, lemon juice (to taste), parsley, small red onion, garlic (your choice on how much), prepared mustard 1 to 2 teaspoons, and basil in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the blade and process until smooth.
  •  Then, with the machine running, pour in about 1/4 cup olive oil slowly through the feed tube. If more olive oil is needed, go for it.
  •  Season well with salt and pepper.
  •  Tasting throughout this process is best. Other seasonings may be added. It's your choice
  • Chill until ready to use. Serve over cold poached fish or chicken or, smoked salmon, hard boiled eggs and tomato slices. It's even good with your favorite snack crackers.

"Wicked" Blog Hop

Oh Boy! It's Wicked time!

Many thanks to Madame Samm and Wendy for coming up with this grand hop.
Before I begin my little show, here are the other
Wicked-s
for today's hop:

Ravelly1's - You are here
Grandmama's Stories
Gracie Oliver Arts
Quilts by Christa
Michelle's Romantic Tangle
Pink's Sweet Treats
How Art You?
Georgia-Girl Quilter
I Piece Too
Words & Stitches
The Distracted Domestic

This is my first "Wicked" hop, so I hope that I've kept to the
spirit of the whole experience. If not, I apologize most humbly.

These are blocks that I've been working on for about a month. I've named them "House Haunters" because of the wonky/spooky look to them. I'm, also, posting my design patterns if anyone would like to make them. Just copy and save them for your use.
All the house fabrics came from my stash. I had fun digging and making a big mess. I also used my favorite fabric adhesive, Steam-a-Seam and followed the pressing instructions provided.
These blocks will become a fireplace mantel runner.

I made this giant pumpkin center table mat from blocks that I'd found in my UFO box. I love earthy colors so the 3 inch blocks worked well for the border.  I machine quilted it and bound it in a wonderful orange strip. It measures 15 1/2 inches square.
This will go well at Thanksgiving.

Now, for the give-a-ways.......
I made this
Wicked Spider mug rug
sure to keep your coffee/tea..... hot and ready.  I machine embroidered
"Wicked" on its abdomen which signifies our theme.

And finally, I made this mug rug the other day.....just couldn't help myself.

See the sparkles in the slippers......love that fabric!!

The wicked witch is trying to get the ruby slippers.

All you have to do is leave a comment to be in the counted.
If you are a FOLLOWER
or you become one during this HOP
and
you mention that fact in a comment, you will receive another
 chance for either mug rug.
I will do a couple of Random picks at the end of the Wicked Blog Hop.
Make sure that I can get in touch with you.
I've a Reminder near the top of my blog if you are a
non-respond-er that states a way to accomplish it so that you feel secure.

GoGo's Little People

First, it's raining here! Yesterday we received almost 3 inches and today another .9 tenths....I'm doing a happy dance.

Now to my little people.
Ayden is really growing. She has a birthday coming up next month. She is so precious to me.
Ayden on her tricycle

Ayden with some sort of balloon character. She'd just come from visiting a fire station.

Buzz and Woody...
not their real names but their sister,
Sarah, decided that it is what she would name them.
Now everyone calls them by those names........and of course......they respond.......LOL
In case you're wondering where she came up with those particular names.....Toy Story characters.

From My Garden-BOW

Apricots. I sometimes like to show the insides just to add interest.
Enjoy

Adding slices of fresh apricots when baking pork chops lends a slightly sweet flavor.
Another idea: cubed apricots, onions, frozen peas and
green bell peppers work well when stir-frying shrimp to serve over rice.

Mug Rug Thursday

It's mug rug Thursday again!
I'm still have major troubles with my computer so bare with me.
After several tries to post, here's the winner of "Boot Scootin'"
Congratulations Jodi.
You know the drill, leave a comment so that we can communicate via email.
Remember, if you are a non-responder, I have NO way to contact you, so make sure to cleverly hide your contact info within your comment.....such as.....
ravelly1 lady at g mail dot com....this is a great way to hide
your info from a computer
 scan thingy.

Up next is
 "A Slow Saturday to Relax"
You are probably wondering where in the world I come up with some of the mug rug titles......the answer is, I really don't know but it's fun to give them some sort of name. Sorry, I know you were thinking that I had some grand naming ceremony but nope.
This one was fun because I was attempting to shadow the wrinkles of each T-shirt and the cap, as well. What do you think, did it work??
Anyway, just leave a comment to be counted for this
give away!!

From My Garden-BOW

Grapes are next up.

I added a little squiggly vine to my block.

To spice up your baked chicken recipe, add a cup of red grapes to the mix and bake as you usually do. The slightly tart taste of the grapes lends a richer flavor to the chicken.

House Haunters-BOW-Finale

Well, it's finally here, upon request.......Block #5!! This was by far the hardest block to do because I really was not up to the task.......kind of out of it but I do like how it turned out.

I did not place the shutters on this house.

Here is how I built the road, bush and eroding mountain for the house.

This is how things looked before I pressed everything to the black background fabric. I always use the non-stick pressing sheet when working with Steam-a-seam, Heat-n-Bond or any other adhesive.

All the house fabrics came from my stash which I'm very happy to say is very slowly shrinking....LOL

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Yumm-eee-ness!!!
The other day I was surfing the net and came across a wonderful blog that I just have to share. On it was a recipe for sweet and sour meatballs. I thawed some ground meat out and went to work. Needless to say, the dinner was a smash with no leftover at all.
When you get a chance pop over and take a look at all the fantastic recipes.

From My Garden-BOW

Before I get to the next block "From My Garden" here's an update on my old blocks project.
I finished quilting and binding this little beauty. It measures 15 1/2 inches square.

A couple of close-ups.

I used DMC floss to enhance the veins on the leaf.

You can barely make out the two triangles at the top of the block which act as a sleeve. I love the way this one turned out.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Apple
is the next design of
From My Garden.
Enjoy!!

I'm having computer issues......probably something I did for sure so if you don't hear from me other than my usual Thursday mug rug, you'll know the computer thing is not good....sigh!!

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
