By leaving your email within your comment, I can find you. I realize that this is sometimes a scary thing to do with scams and all but if you disguise the email as say.....

I've Been Framed!

Yep! You heard correctly.... I've been framed........ Allow me to introduce the culprit!

Frame Profile: Forty-five inches long; thirty-two inches tall; and eighteen inches wide

This wonderful quilting frame was lovely made by a friend who has since passed away.

He heard some of us quilters talking one day, years ago, about hand quilting and the woos of finding a good frame. His wife explained how important height and adjustability would be to a quilter and the weight of a frame would need to be light and easy to move and/or store in the home.

He quietly went back to his workshop and drafted several frames before coming up with a workable one that would fit a quilter's needs for the home.

I can just imagine his workshop, the sawdust, the sounds of the saw,  drill and router..... oh I've been around carpenters, if you're wondering (great-uncle was carpenter).

Hinges and wing screws aid in adjusting the tilt of frame.

This frame tilts for ease of quilting and as you can see is spring tension adjustable so that the quilt does not fit to tightly in the frame.

Groove where inner frame fits.

Springs on both ends of the inner frame holds the quilt in place.

Frame can be tilted downward or remain upright.

Needless to say I love this frame.  Only a couple of us were able to purchase the frames before the builder passed away but each time I use it, I just smile and remember how wonderful he was.

DWM

Make sure you pop over to Judy's to see what everyone else is up to on this Design Wall Monday.

So here's what I've accomplished.....

Can anyone pick out my oops?
I noticed it when I took this photo.
I'm not changing it ....... LOL ...... but it did eeerrrk me.
So far the quilt measures 35 by 40 inches. I'm thinking of adding a tiny red border and then a four inch border  green in nature. What do you think??

DWM

Make sure you pop over to Judy's to see what everyone else is up to this Design Wall Monday.

Here's what I'm working on.
I now have 3 Christmas blocks completed so I decided to work on the "filler" blocks which are random 2 1/2 inch squares of greens and reds from my stash. So far, I haven't bought any fabric in awhile.
I just need two more hand embroidery blocks and one more filler to complete this wall-hanging. Only then will I decide what to do for borders.

I did not plan this next mug rug give-away to coordinate with the
 letter "F"
it just happened that way.
Flamingo
is the mug rug this week. It's the last mug rug for a little while. I really need to get some of my UFOs done....you know how that is, I'm sure.

Leave a comment and this bird could be yours.
I'll draw a name by Feb. 14th and post the winner.

And now for an update on little
Buzzard Bait
AKA
Sugar & Cream
As you can see she is growing like a weed and look at those long lashes. She is a camera hound and loves to pose.  She actually followed me around for a few moments until her momma noticed
so I ran for the hills  made a quick exit!!

Slow Going

I've got two blocks finished for my 2013 Christmas quilt. It's slow going on my part....life is always getting in the way....you know, laundry, cleaning, dusting, yard work....oh dear!
But I do have seven more months to get the quilt put together and then it's off to the quilter's before December!!

Crash, Boom, Bang

Nope, you're not in an old Batman episode! Nor were these the sounds of a car accident! This was a true test of my patience and calm nature.......sigh.
Allow me to explain.....
First the Crash - my computer crashed all of a sudden.....I figured it would happen soon or later but it was still a shock to the system........I did plan ahead and had saved up. I now have a brand new Windows 8 computer which I am totally UNFAMILIAR with and it is not being very friendly at the moment. I'm trying not to complain but every time I even go near the mouse area, the screen changes to something that I didn't even touch or want......ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!  Deep breaths, inner peace, inner peace, INNER  peace.

Second the Boom - my garage door cable thingy broke yesterday with a very loud boom. I had just come in the house, reached back to close the door and went to load the dishwasher.  A moment later I heard the very loud noise. When I went out to investigate what might have fallen, I could find nothing amiss. Thinking that I'm lost my mind when I could detect nothing broken are crashed to the cement floor, I went back inside and went to bed. This morning when I went to wash the car and couldn't open the garage door.........you get the picture. I discovered that to replace it will cost a pretty penny.....sigh loudly, more deep breaths, inner peace, inner peace, innnnnnnnnner peace!

And finally, third the Bang - some of the hunters didn't get the memo that deer season was over....well they knew it was over last month but decided to ignore that particular fact and began firing into the dead of night last night at some hapless critter at 1 AM.  Heart pounding in my chest, deep breaths attempting to calm down, forget inner peace at this point!!!!!
I didn't find out what they were shooting at but if they had managed to hit it, there wouldn't have been anything left to salvage.
Thanks goodness, we have a Constable in our neighborhood and he was able to remedy the situation. These guys will be fined soundly.
At this point, I really do not wish to hear any more noises for a very long time. Noises are very expensive, don't you think!!

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
