Pincushion Blog Hop

 Welcome Pincushion Hoppers!!

First of all, a big thank you to
Madam Samm. our coordinator
&
 our fantastic cheerleader!!

What a wonderful time I've had viewing all the pincushions. Boy, do we have some talented and creative bloggers out there.

Here are the other wonderful participants for today
September 16, 2013

Allow me to show off a few of my pincushions, first.

This pincushion is also a thread catcher and the strip just below my initials is a magnet. I use this pincushion when retreating.

These two pincushions were in a gift package from an apron swap years ago.

This pincushion was given to my by my great-aunt. It was in her sewing collection for years. The hat-pin was one of hers. For those who don't know what a hat-pin is, it acts as an anchor when pinned through the hat and into the bun of a lady's hair.

Now to the pincushions I made.
A little owl with great big eyes.

A pear with leaves and stem.

A machine embroidered
Pin Cushion

As a give-away, just leave a comment
stating which NUMBERED
pincushion you prefer and if your name is picked by my Random Picker,
I will know exactly which you'll receive!!
It doesn't matter if you are a "FOLLOWER" of my blog or not to
participate but appreciate your support!!

I like your pin cushion that is also a thread catcher. The magnet is a good addition to it. I know what a hat pin is. My MIL collects hat pins and has a beautiful hat pin holder that she keeps them in. I like machine embroidered Pin Cushion. Thanks for the chance to win!

Thank you for participating and sharing your wonderful pin cushions. You are very clever with your pin cushions and very generous to give some away. I remember hat pins and thanks for enlightening those who do not know. My daughter is a high school math teacher and was talking yesterday that with students playing card games online - they don't know how many cards are in a deck to be able to solve probability problems. I'm visiting her and have been teaching the 7-year old to play WAR and Solitaire. I told my daughter that I am encouraging me to play the games with cards as well as online. Yesterday she bought him a deck of cards. I guess Mom still has some good ideas. Again, thanks for being so generous with your giveaway (I'd be thrilled with any of the three) and enlightening us with knowledge, too. It's nice to have a refresher and memories. It reminded me of my mom, grandmothers, and great aunt and their hats and bonnets.
