Friday Night Sew-In / When Nature Calls #5

Here's what I've gotten done so far with my "When Nature Calls"
I added more trees that bleed into the filler blocks above and below the Outhouses.  I like the look of them.  So far the quilt measures 46" by 58".  I now have to decide on a border or borders..... any suggestions???

What a great scenic quilt!!! I love it, it's different and querky, a fun project!!!
I've been sitting here looking at it and I have no idea what sort of border would suit....maybe a timber/wood print to frame it???

Love all you do!! I think something woodsy would look good in the border. Hugs, Marie

I love it! The trees really add to it. I think a narrow green leafy border would look nice.

Rhonda, it looks great as is. Did you do this on EQ7? If so, did you draw your own desings on it? I still have not mastered drawing on EQ7.

I really think I would use a green to pop the greens in the trees. Of course I would probably pop some extra colors in there too....maybe some red as I see a touch of red in one of the blocks.

Okay, I think a thin border that matches the words on the quilt, then a pieced green, red, brown border around that.

LOVE the trees, I'm not sure if I'd add anything beyond a simple dark green border as a frame to the beautiful quilt.

What a creative idea! I love the "hole" concept ;)
I agree with everyone above who mentioned using green in the border. That's the first color that came to my mind, too.
Great FNSI!

MAGNIFICENT!!! I've never seen a quilt like that before - it's totally amazing! Those outhouses are an absolute hoot, LOL!

My first thought when you mentioned border(s) was that it might be cool to surround the blocks with trees (something like a green tone on tone tree print) - it seems most of us had the same basic thought :)

I'd have to go with green borders as others have mentioned but it would have to be the 'right' green and some leaves in it would look nice, or maybe a 'leaf' quilting pattern.
Where can I find this pattern as I'd love to try it?

This is wonderful and something my mother (89) would love. Is it a pattern?

Hello Rhonda,

Love the quilt you are working on,maybe green for the border but I would be putting a roll of toilet paper somewhere too.

Happy days.

WOW - I was thinking brown - something that looks like old wood... (You know like a real frame.)
