Which Way - What Then

I need your help......Which direction looks best.  Well, first allow me to explain.....I found this wonderful Batik fat quarter in my stash....imagine that........I love the fabric but as usual didn't buy enough....so I made this little tablerunner top from scraps (in my stash).  When I placed it on my design wall, I noticed that the batik had a direction to it......after turning it several times.......I decided that I needed help.....
So, which direction.....across or up and down?
The next thing I thought about was....do I need to applique anything in the center?????
HELP!
Signed,
Out of my mind...better known as .....Not A Clue!

P.S.   I'll be away from my computer for a couple of days but am looking
forward to your suggestions.
Thanks, in advance!

I'm sure this is a matter of personal preference but I like the second direction better...vertical....and maybe it would be nice to put something in the center as an applique (although I have no idea WHAT)....but maybe something in a circular design that will look fine from ANY angle...so you can change the direction of the runner, if you wish, at some point (and it will still look "right")...maybe something in wreathlike arrangement?

I am thinking trees so I like the vertical look best. I love the fabric!

I like the second vertical one. I imagine it with trees or flowers in the centre.

I just happened on to your site today. Nice.
Re: this beauty. Does a tablerunner have a direction? If you haven't moved on, try sprinkling some repeat squares from the border (maybe smaller) confetti fashion.
