By leaving your email within your comment, I can find you. I realize that this is sometimes a scary thing to do with scams and all but if you disguise the email as say.....

Favorite Fabric Monday

I could hardly wait to show off this "chicken" fabric from RJR Fabrics titled "Countryside Inn." I have a yard of this wonder piece and trust me, the pic doesn't do it justice.
Don't ask me what I'm going to do with it because I have no clue but I'm sure that someone will have great suggestions. So, help!

To GoGos House

Hi GoGo!
Did you know that I'm going to be 3months old pretty soon? Yes, and I'm cooing up a storm and laughing and using my newly discovered hands and fingers? Oh yes, and I'm curious about everything that I see. But pay no attention to my fat cheeks....I really can't imagine where I got those from.
Are you listening to me, GoGo? I have plenty to say, really.
I had a wonderful visit from my favorite grandbaby. As you can imagine, she is the light of my life. She is the happiest baby in the world and of course, the cutest.

A Tisket, A Tasket #2

Here's the second BOTM from A Tisket/Tasket. Remember, I haven't stitched anything down other than the vines. I'm be working on all my stitching projects at our "wacky" retreat in a couple of weeks.

Postcard

Lookie what I got from Holly. I love it, the colors the stitched hearts.....it's all Valentine-y. Thank you Holly. Brenda, our "fearless leader," asked us to rename our group, which was Postcard Buddies, to something new. We thought about it and voted on "Posty Pals," which I really like....Well I'm off to get started on next month's postcard.

Favorite Fabric Monday

A few years ago, I was really, I mean really into "all thinks chicken." So much so, I was dubbed ChickenLady. Above is one of my favorite chicken fabrics. I have no idea who produced it. No labeling on the sides......someone cut that off............I do have 1 yard of it and would love to know who produced it and what colors I should use to compliment it. One of these days I will get around to putting something together. This would be a perfect time to use my EQ6 skills.....LOL The idea to post about favorite fabrics comes from my good friend Belinda. She is very creative so make sure you pop over and take a look at her blog.

Bird House #3

Remember Naughty Molly, who discovered the Bird House BOTM link? Well, here's the third block. I know some of you are thinking.....#3, what's up with that? Well, for some reason, the month of January gave out 2 blocks. Starting tomorrow evening, each Monday, I will be featuring one of my favorite fabrics from my stash and will be asking your opinion on what to do with it, what colors that compliment it and sometimes, where can I get more........LOL..............Pop back in tomorrow and help me out.

Marine Corps Emblem

I have really enjoyed making these emblems and especially this one because I love the fabrics that I chose. I have yet to stitch any of the emblems...........waiting for a "wacky" retreat before that happens. Nor have we exchanged blocks............life got in the way.
To put the quilt that I have in mind together, I'll probably have to rely on an EQ6 design idea. Better get my manual out......LOL

And The Winner Is.............

It's nice and warm here in Central Texas this evening......thank goodness. If you remember what I went through last month with my neighbor, the cows, the freezing cold, his bewilderment...........well, I wasn't going through that again. So, mom plucked a name from a bowl.

Without further ado........the winner of the February blocks is Shelly!

Hooray Shelly!!!!!!!!!!! Shelly doesn't have a blog but she does have an "E" so when you view this announcement Shelly....."E" me and your blocks will be placed in the mail. Congratulations!

Part 2 of A Big Adventure

I'm going at this story backwards because it's easier. This is a story that only a "wacky" woman or women could get herself/themselves into. Jerri and I wound up at a great quilt store in San Antonio. Memories by the Yard 8015 Mainland San Antonio, TX 7250 http://www.memoriesbytheyard.com/ The people there were very friendly as are most people in the quilting world. Jerri and I relieved them of some of their fabric......LOL The story behind these pics is that we had circled San Antonio at least twice the day before. Anyway, this quilt shop had great displays of their quilts, BOTM patters and examples of them and bolts of fabrics. They even had decor fabrics for furniture. Jerri and I spent about an hour shopping and laughing with everyone before getting on the road back home. We give "Memories by the Yard" 2 thumbs up! If you curiosity is piqued, I'll fill you in. Jerri & I decided to stop in Austin to grab a bite to eat before going the last leg of our trip home. We both agreed on Chinese food. Austin's a college town with loads of places to eat plus we had the GPS thingy to guide us. Piece of cake you would think. We programmed in our destination and drove to the voice of "Maddie's" voice.....Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you, we named the GPS Madeline, Maddie for short........Now where was I? When we arrived......no restaurant........Alrighty then.....maybe the place went out of business......next place all programmed in, & off we go with "Maddie" telling us turn by turn. We arrive near an iHop restaurant, but this time we are prepared. Jerri calls the phone number given and explains that we are lost and need extra directions. I'm listening from our end when Jerri says, "Yes, we're right beside the iHop," a pause, "the iHop," pause, "Yes, I said the iHop, iHop!" I'm now thinking Jerri is having a meltdown but hold my peace when she says, "Yes, we're at the iHop in Austin! Where are you?" pause...."Round Rock, well &^%&()!~!" We are now thinking that "Maddie" is out to get us. Long story short, after attempting 2 more places, we wound up somewhere hear I35 and by golly we had Chinese!

Memories & Postcards

Today is February 5th and it was my brother's birthday. I will never forget him and wanted to post about my memories. So I've linked to my last year's post to honor his memory. I was recently involved with 3 CaringBridge folks who touched my heart deeply. CaringBridge is a link that allows families to post daily journals about their ill loved ones. I was especially touched by a family whose 6 yrs. old who passed away from a terrible cancer. The little boy was here only for a brief time but he managed even in his illness, to reach out to others. He reminded me so much of my brother. I'm sure that there were times when the 6 yr. old was in pain, afraid and tired of all the procedures and needles but he never stopped fighting or trying to reassure his parents and other patients around him.
His parents and family are now going through the grieving process and my heart is right in there with them. Their son reminded me that I really have "nothing" to complain about or worry about in my good health.
I salute those brave child patients who, in their small mines, know what's important. Love! So, I'm passing what's important on to my fellow bloggers. Love one another, care for your fellow human being.

I have gotten behind in posting the postcards that I've received. So I'm doing some catch-up.
First, I received a great fur tree from Marie. Thank you, girlfriend. Marie & I have become great friends and try to encourage one another to get busy......LOL
Next up is a snazzy sparkly postcard from Vicki. She did some fancy thread work which doesn't show up & I know you can't see the sparkles but trust me they're there. I love sparkles. Thanks Vicki.
Finally, my good friend Carol did some paper-piecing to frame the cute angel kitty. Hope you doing well Carol. Thank you so much.
My postcard to all the group are on their way or already made it. Love you all and I'll try to do better with posting the pics.

Monthly Followers' Give-Away

It's February and time for my second Ravelly1 Followers give-away. I've been practicing again on my Janome 11000. I have, sort of, weaned myself from sitting in front of the machine and watching the designs as they are stitched out......LOL.....trust me, it's mesmerizing. Remember that you have to be a follower of my blog and leave a comment to get you name in the "hat." If you haven't been following my blog, now's the time to get to know me and my wacky world of sewing and embroidery. This month I'm giving away these 2 red work blocks to one luck "follower". The theme is "on the farm" and each block measures roughly 8"X7". I did not trim or square up the blocks so there's plenty of space around them.
The only requirements are: (1) you are featured as a "Follower" on my sidebar and (2) you leave a comment on this post. Very simple. The drawing will take place February12th.

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
