OMG

One month until the cruise! Ohmygosh.......I'm not anywhere near ready! I've got my suitcases, I've packed them 8 times already. I've got my medication stored and ready to go. All my paper-work has been taken care of......I think. So what's the problem? I'm not sure but......I know I'm not ready!

A Good Hair Day

So.......we were thinkin'.............. we're going to be on this cruise for 7 days.........we might need some hair to get us through.............15minutes later and Wala! That's not how it really happened, ya'll. Here's the real story. We went to Sam Moon's in Dallas, split up and started shopping...........Rule #1....never split up.......Anyway, I checked out first and went in search for my "wacky" girlfriends but I didn't see them anywhere. This was distrubing to me obviously............I started looked down each isle every carefully and noticed that some strange woman was wearing Annie boots, her slacks and coat......I approach with caution......ready for anything but not the person who turned to me with a questioning look of her own........several tense seconds later....Annie starts laughing at the expression on my face and pointes to her hair......of which she did not have when we entered Sam Moon's...........She directs me to Jerri who is in the process of "hairing it up" with a very jubulent, little helper who talks me into some hair as well, styled it, poofed it, sprayed it..........Don't we look so good.............LOL..................As we were about to exit the building, showing our receipts to the guard, he just waved us through while shaking his head and rolling his eyes......What? We wondered was his problem..................On to The Container Store...........Annie dropped Jerri and I off as it was freezing and parked the truck while we entered and started shopping............When Annie came in moments later, the store clerk asked her if she was looking for her friends...........What was up with that question, we wondered.................Then it was on to the Blue Masa for lunch.......The receptionist was awestruck to say the least and said we looked lovely............followed by our waiter who made several flattering comments, as well..........But Annie topped that all off by pointing out that we were actually more on the lines of............Larry, Curly and Mo...............hehehehehehehehehe

What's My Password

Duhhhh.....Funny story......"now"........The other day I turned on my computer, logged onto the Internet and typed in what I thought at that moment...was my password for my "e-mail". Well, several tries later and a few choice words, it told me that my password was incorrect and to go thru the necessary steps to identify myself.......~$%~^#&*$%+}%{~ Alrighty then! I tried that but was unseccessful. What in the world? I gave up and started the next day.........same problem.......It was at this time that I went in search for my "password" book......you know that little book that you wrote all of those pesky passwords to you "E", myspace, your blog, the counter, shutterfly, flickr, dumpr, etc., etc., etc. Anyway, as soon as I located that book, without even opening it, my password popped into my little brain.......you know.......the real one that I wasn't typing in in the first place. You may be wondering why I'm sharing this little story......the answer to that is I don't know........maybe it will help someone else out there in blogger-land. The moral of this experience..........write it down, then tie a string around your finger to remind you of what you wrote down; next use a post-it note to tell you why you have a string tied around your finger; finally tell a family member or BFF why there's a post-it note on you frig reminding you of the string and what it was you wrote.

Shoot for the Stars

I saw this little quilt in the Jan/Feb 2008 issue of "Quilters Newsletter," page 18. It caught my interest because of the reflective star in the background. In the magazine the star is more pronounced but I like the subtly of my little star. My imagination is starting to run away with me because I see so many possibilities for future quilts. http://www.quiltersnewsletter.com/

Round Robin Reveal

Our Round Robin group: L to R: Molly, Kathy, Cheryl, Debbie, Melissa and Rhonda. We had a fan-tabu-lous......lol.......time....what with trying to interpret what our instructions "really" meant, what we each were trying to figure out to do next, the e-mailing back and forth, the late nights, frayed nerves........they all turned out beyond all of our expectations..........However, none of us want to do this again any time soon! This is Kathy's. Her quilt is dedicated to her son Josh who is her hero.
This is Cheryl's. As you can see her theme was Christmas. The stockings have all her grandkids names on them plus an extra for the yet born one.
This is Debbie's. We used some Thimbleberries and Civil War fabrics to really make this quilt pop.
This is Molly's. Her theme is about she and her husband's ranch. She was quite pleased with the outcome. The picture doesn't even come close to the real thing.
This Melissa's. She owns a Retreat so her quilt reflects that.
This is my quilt. I had no idea of what I'd get with the center I provided but I am very happy with what I got back. I was experimenting with half square triangles at the time I made th center and loved the black swirly fabric.

First Project-Done

I started this project with the half square triangles already made from "weeks" ago. Using a display board right beside my sewing area (this is a good thing), I laid out my design, sewed the rows, ironing as I went and within a couple of hours......Wala!........I call it "The Star of Hope". This quilt measures roughly 27" X 27". But as you well know, the bigger the half square triangles and solid blocks........the bigger the quilt.

Keeping Track

One of my "wacky" sisters came up with the idea of keeping track of the time we spend sewing or quilting our projects for the year, writing it down on paper if you can't get to your computer, posting it and adding it up at the end of the year. Well, we all pondered on this for several weeks and this is what I came up with. Each time you see this little guy you'll know that I'm posting my sewing time. I chose him because he looks so excited and wants to tell you something.
And......lookie here now.......this is my 150th post.....so the little excited guy is appropro.

Packed

Well, I'm packed, loaded and ready for the Round Robin Reveal Retreat.........Try saying that 3 times really fast............LOL.............Anyway, this time I decided not to take too much.......just some applique and a couple of sewing projects which requires a small tub of my stash. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has done and will post to all you bloggers ASAP.

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
