What Do You Think?

HELP! I've put together the "Odd Star" quilt and stopped it with a 2 inch black border. Now I'm stuck. Should I put another border using some floral print or am I finished? Please leave your wonderful kind words and help me out. Thanks in advance.

I think it looks good done like that.

I agree with Kim, it looks complete and balanced/but the final decision is yours. I really like the colors; to me they are soothing. Congratulations on a beautiful quilt.

Let me put in the third vote for - looks great, call it done!

I agree it's probably done. You might want to try some 4 inch-ish squares from the star leftovers and see what a pieced border looks like.It might be too much though.

If you are undecided, why not just fold another piece of fabric against the black border just to give you an idea if it needs another border or not. For me, I would add another wider border to give the quilt more dimension.

More is better--I KNOW--HOWS ABOUT APPLIQUE? Seriously--maybe in two opposite corners--I know--your about ready to kill mee about now--What are friends for?

I like it - clean and to the point.

One suggestion I could offer is to keep the black border, add a thinner border and then a last black border same width as the first, and binding in black.

Another suggestion is to walk away from it for a while and then take another look.

Couple questions to help you decide...

Is it big enough? Do you have enough of the border fabric? Do you mind buying it?

If it is bigh enough, it looks "done." If it is not big enough - another border would not "break" it.

What did you decide to do?? I love it with the black border. Better go play Thomas the Tank Engine Duplo with Jackson!! I can hear pieces being flung around the room cause they obviously aren't fitting just right!!

Depending on what I was wanting to use it for. If it is "big enough" then I would quit now because it looks great. If I needed a larger quilt I would add a wider floral border and another narrow border like your inner border and call it good. Nice colors. :-)

I love it how it is, but if it isn't big enough, maybe a brown thin border and then another black? It is very effective, I love it.
