ROTFLOL

Lookie here now! I just checked my luggage for the cruise.....Oh, I'm sorry. Didn't anyone tell you that I and 7 of my "wackiest" friends are goin on a cruise? Anyway, I was looking at all my buys for the cruise......clothing, jewelry, shoes, swimsuits, pusese, etc., etc., etc. Well I don't know how this happened but I think I've out spent the cost of the cruise on this stuff. But I'm still smiling! Notice the smile on my face...forced but it's there `~@-#}&)#(@_(!*~ Just yesterday me and a couple of girlfriends, who by the way are going on the cruise with me, went over to Tyler, TX to Dressin' Gaudy....that's a wonderful ladies dress shop and such. We had a blast, bought more stuff and a couple of surprises for our cabin mates but I'm not supposed to tell that. LOL They'll never find out...will they? Then it was on to two great quilt shops over there ...... "Sherman's" and "A Nimble Thimble". Of course we had to have fabric, there's never enough in our personal stashes. The day was great the company excellent but now I must stop myself from buying anymore stuff for the cruise.....unless it's absolutely necessary! Somebody stop me...........

Fun in 2008

Here's a neat way to keep up with your group's dates and activities. I made calendars for each member with specific dates highlited or a symbol signifying a birthday, girls night out, etc. I also made a collage of some of our more memorable times just to jazz up the calendar. On the back of the calendar, I printed out everyone's important info and any changes that have been made during this passing year.

Science & Kids

In my profile I mentioned that I'm a recently retired teacher. What I didn't mention is that I taught science for many, many years. Anyway another teacher asked me about some experiments and that jogged my memory about a couple of websites that just might get you blogger with children who are struggling with the subject. I found these sites in the last few years of teaching a life saver. www.stevesplanglescience.com www.looseinthelab.com Both of these sites have info about workshops for parents, teachers and student.

This Past Project

These are the blocks that my "wacky friends" made at my request. My theme was Texas and my girlfriends really did a great job. Now, I must figure out how to put the blocks together. Want to help me out. Leave your comments and suggestions, please. Help! P.S. Be the 10th commenter and receive 2 fat quarters for your trouble.

Fifty Something

Who remembers this movie group? If you're 50 or older you just might. The true romance between a man and woman where the love and passion doesn't have to be shown with nothing left to the imagination. I just wanted to share my all time favorite movie group with you ....... Tarzan & His Mate starring Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O'Sullivan. If you haven't seen this movie, the first in the group, please rent it, pop a bag of popcorn and enjoy a couple of hours of true love without becoming embarrassed to even watch. This is a collectors item for sure.

A Day That The Lord Made

I had to take this picture of the sky but the picture doesn't do the actual sky justice. It was a cloudy day all day but then the clouds parted as if the sun said "enough". The view from where I was standing was so breath-taking that I ran into the house and retrieved by trusty camera. Ain't God awesome!

2008 Challenge

Already Wackies.....I have decided on a pasiely print for my center with muted brownish reds, greens and black on one side; creams and tone-on-tone on the other. I will already have the center glued down and in place so that will be out of the way. The strips of fabrics you all chose should be 1", 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2" and 2 3/4". These instructions will appear with each of your packages along with a picture as shown in my blog. I'm so excited about this and look forward to seeing everybody's choices at our Christmas party.

More Projects

I got busy last night and completed two more projects. The little checkerboard quilt will need a border or two but I can do that later. LOL The star quilt is finished. It was quick and easy. Depending on the size of the 1/2 square triangles, you can make a wall hanging to a king sized quilt.

Adaptation

Molly thought up this great idea for more seating on the family "Mule". This is what her son came up with and the "Wackies" were to first to try it out. What do you think? Now back to the sewing weekend......................lol!

In Full Swing

Well, it's day 2 and we have actually graduated from our computers to "sewing".....LOL
Most of these projects are developed from a scrap bag mania project we're working on this year.

Computer Woos

I suggested that we bring our computers and webcams to the "Sew-In" at Molly's. What was I thinking? It's 3PM and no one has sewn a stitch. Mind you, we've thought about it but someone will say that they've found a way to do a certain thing and here we go again......LOL

;-}

Don't count the days, make the days count!
