Trunk Show

Recently I did a trunk show for the Heritage Quilt Guild in Canton, TX. That was so much fun. Afterwards, the ladies showed me some of the projects they'd been doing.

Jerri's Quilt

This is my wonderful, wacky friend's quilt. Isn't it beautiful? Jerri always does great work. She showed it off at our latest retreat at the Compass Center in Mount Calm, TX.

"I've Been Simpsonized"

I recently visited a blog and her entry struck me funny. She had been Simpsonized due to her children's prompting. So, of course, I had to try it. Within minutes, I, too was Simpsonized. LOL By the way.......it's late night at the "retreat" and I've sewn all I'm going to, thus Simpsonizing!

Flyin' Eagle

I love the "eagle" fabric......have had it for years and finally found a use for it.
We have had a blast here at The Compass Center in Mount Calm, Texas with Melissa Picha, the owner and chief cook.

I'm Blue

This lovely little quilt nearly did me in. I'm telling you, it crossed my eyes, gave me a headache and an upset stomach. It's made on the diagonal and I do not appreciate that at all......LOL Anyway, after several misshaps, I finished it. Now, I know you're wondering about the edges of the quilt.......how am I going to finish and bind it??????????? I DON'T KNOW! I didn't think that far ahead*#(&$@)(@*&!(*~#^&*~}{(!*~&@~((~~*****............. I'm okay, it's alright, life goes on and so do I.

Luggage

It all started with an idea...."We need flashy luggage!" Something that can be spotted from afar. So 5 of us went on a road trip to Sam Moon in the Woodlands near Houston. Molly drove us and we talked and visited on the way up. When we got to the store, we couldn't believe how many types of luggage there were. We all settled on some wild dotted sets and had them brought up to the counter while we went to the jewelry department to make a few purchases. Finally all checked out and headed to the SUV, we discovered that everything barely fit. The guys pushed and shoved the large boxes into the back as she chuckled at ourselves for not bringing 2 cars. Then it was on to the mall for more shopping.
Let me tell you, we had a blast.

Sunday Dinner

Yesterday was a special day for me. My boys were in the house. I hadn't seen Gabriel in nearly a year. They came bearing gifts for my birthday. It was a wonderful surprise and a day that I won't soon forget.

Simply Blue

These two units on the right, make a beautiful quilt. It also allows you to brush up on nine patches (LOL). Trust me......I've made quite a few over the past couple of days. I think I need to make a few more units and then rearrange some more. I like the border fabric that I'm auditioning but might change my mind.
What do you think?

Fun Block

This little Sunbonnet Sue was quick and easy. I made it in about 30minutes for a fellow Wacky. This stems from our "Gallon Bag" swap where each Wacky members gathers alot of scraps that they aren't using, stuffs them into a gallon bag and swaps their bag for another. You must make one or more blocks from the bag before you can pass it on for another. I am making heart blocks which I posted last month. This block has a Texas flair with the cowboy boots and rope scarf. I did a quick zip-zag and "Tada".....done!

100 & 52

Whew! I have holding off posting for nearly a week. Shhhh....I did post on the Wacky blog twice. LOL Anyway.......today is my birthday and this is my 100th post. Thus the title 100/52. I've got a few things to say to all my blogging friends out there. "Life is great!" I'm surrounded by a great mom, wonderful friends and all the fabric I can sew up. The quilt behind me is my latest project. I'll have more in a day or so. I'm using blues and beiges. Blue is not a color that I but often or use so I forced myself to use it. LOL Enjoy you day everyone.....it's on me!
